Hey buddy, and everyone else. So I'm near bangalore at the McDonald's and having worn the lid for 300 kms, my head has finally adjusted to it :P, there is significantly less wind noise, aerodynamics are leaps and bounds ahead of the ls2 and fit is perfect, the new strap is easy to get used to and the clear visor is fantastic, the sound isolation can really be felt when opening the visor and then closing it :O, the padding is very thick and all in all vfm helmet

Good to know dannyR15. I am planning to get myself one and visited Meandering India here, in Delhi. They haven't got the consignments yet, but, said that the helmets should arrive in 1-2 weeks time.

Received my SF1 a few days back after a wait of over three months. Had booked it with Meandering India , Delhi. This is my first proper helmet, so don't have any references to compare with. Though I've been riding for over eight years, never really used a helmet; as I come from a place where no one uses one.

The lid feels quiet sturdy and well built, the visor opens and shuts with a solid feel. Though the operation of the sliding shades and air vents could have been better. The dual visor has a pretty clear visibility; when closed, it feels as if it is not there at all. Field of vision is also better than what I had expected. Only wind noise I face is when I'm not looking straight ahead. Whenever I turn my face to look in the RVM or the views, I hear a slight whistling noise. But I've somehow started liking it. It acts as a warning for me to look in front. The rear LEDs work as desired and look pretty awesome. The lid is quiet heavy, but I've not faced any issues with that as yet.

Tested for stability upto 160kmph, it was well planted on my head, and my head was somehow planted on my shoulders. I got a pretty snug fit for a size "M" and I'm very happy with it. The size charts worked for me and should work for others too.

One thing I would like to suggest everyone is to buy a snug fit helmet, any brand you buy. A loose helmet is as good as a loose condom, or a used one for that matter. It would do no good when you hit the spot.

And thanks everyone for helping me choose my protection.

dannyR15 it could have been even more helpful if you could post the snaps of the helmets from inside, side, quarter view and most of all the "arse" just wanted to get a feel for how it looks. I am considering a red one too, so if you can help us out that'd be real great.

Cheers!

The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

If you really came to know the importance of safety then why are you going for a 1-2k helmets. I know its better than going for a Rs 300-500 helmet but I strongly suggest you extend your budget a little more and atleast go for a LS2 or the recently launched MT helmets.

Cheers

If you are still going for a under 2k helmet then look at the Studds scorpion or the Vega axor. But i still suggest you save a little more and go for a good lid.

And plz no more sir

Ls2 starts at around Rs. 3700, but some get it for some Rs. 3000-3200.

If you are not in a position to stretch your budget even a single bit then don't settle for anything less than the Axxor; I am afraid even this is going to cost you more - reportedly a friend bought it for 2200/- INR recently in Bangalore. LS2 here retails for somewhere around ~3500/- INR. You can check out the MT too, looks VFM and flashy.

In any case, if you are forced to settle with the lesser ones, make sure you upgrade sooner than later to the better ones - 'just don't compromise with Helmet!

Ride safe.

If your budget is strictly about 1K - Studds Rhyno/Ninja
About 2K - Studds Scorpion (better build quality)
If you can stretch it to 4K, go in for an MT - they are highly rated in the SHARP website. For the introductory price, they are very good indeed.
LS2 has too many variables for me to suggest them. Some are Indian made (what's the QC like?), many are fakes, some are dubious imports. Unless one is assured of their quality or originality, there are many other options to choose from.
Ensure you have a snug fit while purchasing it.
