DO consider NUVO helmets... it is in price range of 6000/- only and have 4star sharp rating and have many mad designs too
    I respect the threat.

Can anyone tel me which one is better between the two,if so would be happy if someone can suggest a particular model along with its price ?
      Thanks in advance
Both Cross and LS2 are pretty good VFM helmets, Cross being a notch below LS2. If you really like to get a helmet in <=3k range, why don't your Studds Rhyno, it's a really cool helmet. There are lots of models in LS2 and Cross. Extend your budget and go for SOL.

I'm planning to get a lid for myself. I'm thinking to get one b/w SOL SF-1 / 68 S II / SS 1(dual sport). Gone through previous pages, sf1 and 68 S II seem to have great VFM. Wanted to check hows the dual sport? pros and cons. Any review would be very helpful.

P.S. - I would be doing office (city) ride on week days and highway ride to my home on week ends. And my budget is 5k.

      Thanks.
SOL dual sport helmet has been bought by a VERY SENIOR member here, but currently he's on a trip. And I think he's posted his reviews here, but you need to squiggle few (if not more) pages back to see the review.

That said SOL is an excellent VFM helmet compared with the goodies (LED) that comes along with it. Not only for that, all in, an very good helmet for the price. Go for SOL

      Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

            I own a SOL 68 sII Unicorn.
I would suggest you please dont go for chinese brands(SOL), better buy helmets of italian brands like AIROH , etc.Starts at INR 7000-8000 onwards
Their build quality is much better than chinese ones.
All the LED's and 18 vents are of no use.2 vents are enough.

Is there some particular reason you say this? But one clarification before you explain, SOL is not a chinese brand . Wondering where you got that information from. And do you detest everything that is made in china and prefer everything made in ITALY, over it? Then I have to say, you my dear friend are driven by prejudice and not sound judgement and my sympathies are with you, and if you do have a reason for this, then please do share it with us.

Guys guys, chill out. And vzuwOw, SOL hemets are made in Taiwan and sell like hot cakes there. Every product has its defect be it from any manufacturer. And appreciate for your honest review.

SOL is a Taiwanese brand. You are right not all Chinese made are crap. Chinese are people who will give you better than an original A* jacket, be it any manufacturer if the guy is willing to pay. Considering 90% of the stuffs come with Made in China tags.

The only thing is, Chinese are adept at replicating and selling, in which the names of genuine manufacturers get rotted up. Aren't we Indians doing that? So it's not wise to argue over Chinese and Italy. All people wearing Italian Chinese Japanese helmets and gears do die in race tracks, whether it's helmet or any gear they wear.

Please, guys, don't argue this over here, kind request. Thanks

                Cheers!

So much information with your intent being "don't argue?". I suggest you to please understand the context of my post. And let's not go off topic, I only wanted to know what differences vuzuwow has noticed between chinese and italian "helmets", this being a helmet thread and all. Thanks.

Exactly. The thing he mentioned was maybe fit and finish. Obviously there is a price factor to anything there is outside. So people want bang for the buck buddy. Not everyone will go easy with their money spent on anything that they regard as useful and after they bought thinking it's useless, that's what I meant.

I agree to your point completely. And the other clarification was for all the members.

Even my iPod is Made in China, even my Sony Phone is Made in China, even my laptop speakers are Made in China. What not?

I just don't want people arguing over Chinese products, because it's been repeated ZILLION times, as I've been here. So let's forget this topic, and talk only about helmets, please

                    Cheers!

There is a sticker behind the helment which says "Made in Taiwan".So guys i know its not a chinese brand.
Also for your FYI ,SOL helmets sells in US by the name of GMAX.

And sai , i'm not at all against with chinese products.Infact all my electonics at home are made in china.
It was in context with HELMETS only.I jut wanted to say if you are buying a helmet go for Europian Brand over Asian Brand. They are more robust and Reliable.

I made those statements because the build quality is good enough but not upto the mark when you are paying around 5-6 grands.
I had once taken out all my pads to wash them and that was it when the trouble started.
Now again and again when i remove my helmet from my face my pads come out.I guess thats because of the button which may have got problem from where the pads are attached to the inner side of the helmet.
Also there is no enough cushioning on the upper side.

And b7ackthorn , Sai has very right to argue with me because i didnt give enough information on my statements.

                        Cheers.

                        • I recently got my 68S2 wizard. i love the helmet.
At the back there is a sticker "Made in Taiwan" and inside the helmet on warning tag is says "Made in Taiwan".

SOL Name is printed on whole body, but on my visor Gmax is embossed.
so i think even for US they import from Taiwan with Gmax label.

                              • Bought a SOL SL-68S and after wearing it for 2 times, my whole head got paining. Finally found out that the helmet is longer only vertically. The problem is that my head is slightly bigger in sides and IT was too tight. SO I exchanged my helmet with LS2. Wow its a perfect fit. Im totally happy with the helmet.
Im not saying that SOL is bad. Its bad for me. I really not happy to give SOL. It was great. But at last our body should be taken care of than anything else!
