Have said this a couple of times earlier. There's a huge difference between the current LS2's and the older ones. However, the (blind) love that people have for the brand without doing their research is just amazing.
There's LS2 - unknown, then there's LS2 made by vega with ISI mark.
A simple comparison between a 3 year old LS2 and the new ones will show the difference.
Even Studds Scorpion is much better than the LS2s available in the market nowadays. It seems at times that there is no point in sharing because it is all drowned out in the shrill voice of LS2.
I would rather buy either a Studds or something that has a clear import history and a warranty to back it up. How many LS2 dealers will give a warranty on that helmet?
I'm just surprised that many people take something like a helmet and it's fitting so lightly at times. It is the difference that might save your life in the one instance you really need it.

I was searching around for a decent helmet with international certification (for a friend). He settled on LS2. However, while snooping around the website, something did not feel right. So I started digging.

Please observe one funny thing in the website -LS2 Helmets, contact of Laxmi Automobiles is mentioned but if you click on the shops tab of the site, even the country 'India' is not listed. How is that possible?

      All guys who believe that
www.ls2helmets.in is company owned website, please see this - ls2helmets.in Whois Lookup & IP | Whois.net.

You can get confirmation that this website is owned by Mr. Anil Gupta of 376/377 nana peth pune 411002. It is the address of Laxmi Auto. It is NOT a website of company.

Link to LS2 Philippines show you an address of Spain as local contact :-)

This is the original company's website.
      http://www.mhrhelmet.com/index.asp They manufacture two brands - LS2 & MHR.

Their 'Network' page does not show any presence in India. -http://www.mhrhelmet.com/net.asp

Now decide whether the LS2 helmets available in India are genuine or not.
bro this is the properlink to ls2 helmets India

      LS2 Helmets

same is the case with sonymobile
      if you type
sonymobile.in check where it will land you to
      proper link is Xperia

ls2helmets.in is the main importer of India`s website and not the LS2 company`s website

i myself have bought ls2 helmet from laxmi auto j m road pune and they have shown me the catalog of ls2 helmets, they are 100 % genuine dealers and as long as you buy from their authorised resellers the LS2 are genuine

Wouldn't it be right to check before posting? The link that you have mentioned (LS2 Helmets) is the exact website I have quoted. Please check the contact details on the website. This is the site I am talking about.

A lot of ppl are aware of the fact the LS2 helmet website is owned by its indian importer. However i was not aware that there was a time when LS2 was manufactured by vega.

What is the connection and how..??

And sadly not much option in this price range.

SOL website link takes you directly to SPG website. Arai clearly mentions PRS as the authorised dealer. Same applies for most other brands that are sold in India. MT servers have some technical issue with the servers that host SPG's website. That's why the SPG website is down for the last two days since hosting servers are being changed. You should soon see the MT link too.

You are right. I really need to improve my browsing skills.
Kindly share exact links of these official websites.
It will be of great help.

Also, regarding the LS2 Helmets site, in the link provided by Vishwas, under products, the LS2 link takes you to LS2 Worldwide, which in turn links to the Anil Gupta site.

Guys I'll be getting my first bike in the coming days. Looking to get the basic riding gear in place.

First off will be buying a helmet. Are ls2s a good option? Any other options ~4k? Also is bikegear.in a reliable source? Any other online distributors?
What should be the next priority? I was thinking of going for riding gloves.

The other gear will be bought in phases as soon as financially possible.

You can try Rjays jackets and gloves also. I am using both and can assure you about quality. MT helmet is a good choice below 4000 and in my opinion among Indian brands studds shifter is at par with LS2.

I'm using studd shifter and seriously I went in with budget of around 3k .I had money to buy ls2 but when I checked both out in reality by looks by comfort and specially by strength (pressing the chin area ,I've good strength I'm my arms too) ls2 didn't justified itself .maybe that's because new ones are being target of more profit less safety .

Heard many good reviews of the Shifter. Could you please tell me, how is the wind noise protection for the Studd Shifter? And, at what speeds does the "Whistling" start?
It's a lot like nuts and bolts - if the rider's nuts, the ride - bolts!

starts around 60kmph is okayish until 80 then from 80-100 is fairly noticeable then from 100-125 is disturbing and from 125-148 kmph danger.
By the way use earphones or ear buds and no problem till 120kmph

After reading all the LS2 related talk here, I have got something to ask.
I have an LS2 manufactured in 2012 with the ECE sticker on it, bought from an 'authorised dealer'. The build seems good and hard and feels way better than my older Steelbird SB helmet. What are the chances of it being fake? Should I consider binning it and buying a new one?
