Re: Helmets
Guys, I\'m confused between HJC CL-17 and MT Matrix Track Spirit. The helmet will be used over city commutes as well as for short/long rides. (Includes a ride to Leh-Ladakh) Both helmets are excellent products for their price. I\'ve seen a lot of reviews of the HJC CL-17 and almost everyone has praised the HJC. There are not many reviews over the MT Matrix but the MT seems bang for the buck. Overall the MT seems a great helmet but the HJC CL-17 has proved itself. Input from you guys would help me in zeroing in on one of the helmets. Thank you.

Re: Helmets
I\'m looking to buy a helmet within the range of 2000 Rs, my requirements are a clear outer visor and dark inner visor(shades). I\'m confused between the Vega Axor and the Studds Shifter, please let me know which one of these two is the better one or if there\'s another brand/model i should check.

For 2k, the options you have is indeed limited when it comes to good quality helmets.Originally posted by sinnerz2000 View PostI\\\\\\\'m looking to buy a helmet within the range of 2000 Rs, my requirements are a clear outer visor and dark inner visor(shades). Vega Axor is a decent buy, but personally i feel that the paddings are not adequate enough ,and feels too thin layered even the shell thickness for that matter. But it does have a DOT certification rating. The Studs Shifter looks decent, good padding too, now it\'s your choice.
Personally i would increase the budget and get a bit more decent helmet which gives more peace of mind.
Cheers

Re: Helmets
The next range of good helmets start at 4k, and its not possible to double my budget right now. I think i\'ll go with the vega since it has the DOT certification.Last edited by sinnerz2000; 01-15-2015, 05:07 PM.

Re: Helmets
Hey! new to this forum so still figuring out how it works.
I have a budget of around 5-6k and want to buy a decent full face helmet with an internal sun visor. I am aware of the LS2 FF322 series and no other helmets in this range.
Are there any other better helmets in this range? also if you do suggest any other helmet please tell me where i can find it on the internet and the trustable sites from which it can be bought.
Also i wear specs so will the internal sun visor pose a problem?
Also addresses of dealers either in indore or ahemadabad are also welcome.Last edited by Ishaan.humble; 01-17-2015, 11:18 PM.Keep Revving, stay happy!

Re: Helmets
Bought this from JC road in Bangalore for Rs2250 good price? http://www.vegaauto.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=196_259&product_id=2286
The Vega branding is completely replaced with \"a or\" and the interior padding is seems to have been changed to a better one too, but the one I bought doesn\'t have the inner visor but the website says it does have it, did I get a fake?

Atlast settled for Airoh Speedfire Pitbull. Keeping the Sol metalman with me . This is the 7th helmet I am using and this one has the lowest weight \'feel\'.
Took it from Bachoo Motors and they delivered the same within 2 days. Great customer service From them. Got tinted visor too.Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

Re: Helmets
Sharing the SHARP page for Helmet safety by UK Govt.
SHARP Helmets - Publication of further helmet ratings and website survey
You can see the ratings of all international helmets here.
SHARP ratings are to helmets as NCAP are to cars. Its better than DOT/SNELL ratings in a way that its doesn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t say pass/fail but gives rating out of 5.
P.S. MT Revenge makes an excellent case for itself, hope ventilation and wind hums are taken care of.Last edited by nelson_sanjoy; 01-20-2015, 08:33 PM.

Re: Helmets
I wear specs. I use the SOL SL68Sii. Its a paint in the a$$ to wear and take off the helmet, repeating the process of taking off the specs each damn time. and for this reason alone, modular helmets would be a big plus point for specsy people.Originally posted by Ishaan.humble View PostHey! new to this forum so still figuring out how it works.

but then, safety is of much more concern. i\'d rather have a full face helmet and take off my specs everytime than get a less safe modular helmet at the same price point.
on topic: internal sun visors will be closer to the face, so it may interfere with the specs. best bet would be to try out the helmet before buying. If you find the sunvisor interfering, go for a helmet without one [duh] and for the same i\'d advice the SOL SL68Sii.

Re: Helmets
I recently sold off my 2 years old LS2 Phobia . Time to buy something new. Budget is within 6000. I can buy an LS2 again, but am a bit worried about the fake models floating in the market and the original LS2 buckle lock is prone to rusting. SOL Unicorn II, Metalman or LS2 Phobia or any other suggestion shall be highly welcome. Am from Kolkata and would like to measure my helmet size before ordering. My priorities are:
Visor must be tinted
Air vents are a priority
Base colour should be white, with black and grey design. Gloss finish, not matte
