    • ^^ Thanks bro! Some of us here knew about it. But thanks to the GIR event, a lot of new people are joining here too! It will surely spread awareness.

        • Guys, I need some feedback regarding MPA&AGV helmets. Which is the Indian brand? I tried 2 of them today&felt they were comfortable. My size was also available (60cm.)but somehow felt that they do not look that good. Please share your ownership experiences with the MPA/AGV brands.

          • I bought two AGV-MPA lids a month ago, one for me and the other for the my brother. The paint quality is decent though it could be better. The washable interiors feel pretty nice and the helmet fits snug. Wind noise becomes an issue once the speed gets up to 80 Ks. On windy days, you can hear the wind whooshing in even at 60. The visor isn't scratch proof. Pebbles from the highway have made their mark on my visor at high speeds. I don't know about it's water resistance as I haven't subjected it to the rains as yet. Overall, I feel that the MPA-AGV is a good buy as it comes in at a reasonable price.

Thanks Jay, I also felt its fine for that price, but felt my Boolean is of a better quality coz anti-scratch visors, rear vent&breath deflectors were missing in MPA-AGV. Was looking for the Vega imported kind of feel which was missing!

I had posted some pages ago about my AGV(didn't have the MPA branding on it when i got it) and my Boolean.

I've had my AGV since 3yrs. (maybe more, dont remember. Have it since the lid was launched in India) Don't know if the quality standards has changed these days, because I haven't checked out their latest product range.
But I can definitely say that it is any day better than the Boolean's quality. My visor took ages to get scratches. And my bro has used the AGV extensively! One Mumbai-Ratnagiri-Mumbai ride in a September and umpteen no. of Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai rides. Plus I have used it in Pune's dusty conditions as also to Lonavla and Mahabaleshwar.

Just saying that it has a very good value for its price.
                  Cheers!

                  • i had checked out AGV and MPA-AGV. in my understanding the former is imported and a good one comes for bout 7k+. whereas the latter is kinda indian and a similar design/looking would come for bout 3k. true?
if this is the case, then the latter would/should have lot of drawbacks and lesser life i guess.
pls corrent me if i am wrong...

That is the Studds Ninja Concept half face. It costs around 650. There are newer half face models in Studds. I have the Marshall half face for Rs.850. There is one newer model which has vents on the top too.
The best recommendation from me for a half face would be the Boolean half face for about 875. It has internal visor(sunglass kind)&vents. Exactly like the Boolean, but a half face. Check it out, you're sure to fall in love with it!

                        • R15Rocks... you may want to wait till you find a Vega like the one Lohit & RaviKiran have. They are better than the MPA-AGV's and probably at a better cost.

KP buddy, I've already been to Biking Terminal many a time for that Vega imported helmet which Lohit has. If you have read my earlier posts, I was talking about the same one which did not fit me-the max size they had was 58cms.&my head size is 60cms.The Vega head office guy also expressed regret over adjusting the padding.
Anyways, could you do me a favor-next time you visit Castrol Bike Zone, could you find out the size of that Rhyno helmet? I had been to Abids on Saturday, but seems like Studds makes it only for them!

The Vega's have one major flaw though. The padding isn't removable, hence neither washable
That was the chief reason for me picking the AGV. If one can procure a GP-One, im sure that'll be the best option around...
