Are you sure it is due to sunlight and not due to frequent friction against something hard? You can use some nice stickering to cover that up.

It's due to sunlight. Any friction will cause scratches.

Will check will SPG for warranty repair or replacement.

Hey guys...pls suggest a helmet with 6.5k, criterias:
          1. Good Noise cancellation (wind noise) till 130 kmph.
          2. Scratch proof visor.
          3. Good padding, should not pain jaws even after 500 km ride in a single day.
After going through the helmet threads, below are brands am confused with:
          1. HJC
          2. MT Blade
          3. LS2 (low priority as i read there is a chance of getting fake one too!)
          4. SOL - but folks are saying many ventilations so chance of noise.

I will be using for tours only. For daily commuting i already have one.

Don't know much about the HJC, but as a current user of the MT Blade series helmet, its a value for money product for the price range you have mentioned and previously I had both the LS2 and the SOL ones, where the former was light in weight and at the same time a lot noisier on highway speeds, the latter was heavier compared to LS2 but at the same time as much as noisier as the LS2 too. I find the MT Blade perfect for those highway rides, which I am also using it in city commutes, and it also has very good padding inside.

Both HJC & MT are good. But for touring avoid MT as you will feel the weight. All the helmets will have wind noise, HJC seems quite depending upon what model you're looking at.
Avoid LS2 because of fakes and SOL because it isn't sold in EU, so no sharp rating.

Which model of HJC will you suggest ? Within in 6.5k budget?

Which is the best lightest helmet around Rs.10k mark. My old Sparx Buck King helmet is causing me headaches nowadays. But, its a good helmet though. Very gud noise cancellation and high-speed stability. Ventilation is not gud though.
Can anyone suggest lightweight helmets around the 10k mark please?

The problem with foam tips is that they are not direct plug ins like silicone tips. It doesn't work that way.

You need to roll them for a few seconds till it is compressed, then insert in ear and keep them pressed to ear for a few seconds till the foam expands and seals perfectly.

Under 10k the lightest helmet is MT Matrix, given that you can get hold of one. It has 5 star sharp rating and is fibre material, hence lighter.

CS-14 retails at around 7k, 3 star sharp rating.
If you're looking for 5 star then, IS-17 which retails at around 15k, you can get it cheaper from Singapore or Malaysia.

Just realized that my Sparx helmet is pretty light at around 1550 gms. MT Matrix is 1350 gms. So, I'm thinking whether the switch will be worth it?
Any helmet below 1kg (700-800 gms) upto 15k price range??

No helmet is that light, no matter what the price range. The lightest of helmets have weight around 1300-1400 g

LS2 FF396 retails at around 13k, it's a carbon fibre shell and is rated 4 stars by sharp. That also weighs around 1350g.

MT blade weighs around 1500g, so if you're already used to it, then you can also opt for that.

Hey guys, I'm looking for a helmet in the 5k range(although I could stretch it a bit, say 6.3k for the blade) , mainly for city use, with approx 5-10% highway use.

My main objective is safety(Duuh), followed by sufficient ventilation, as it gets really hot and I would prefer something cooler than most stuffy helmets. I don't use earphones, not looking for NFC or such. I would prefer lower wind noise too. Another factor is at high speeds, the helmet gets pulled upwards (once it almost came off), so something which could avoid that.

As of now, I'm in favour of these:
                            1. MT: What is the difference between the Axxis and the Blade? There's a 1.5k difference for no apparent reason, could anyone clarify on this?
There are several variants too, such as SV Racine, or SV Boss, etc etc, what is the difference in these? In the features list on SPG, there is no difference.

                            2. Kranos: Pretty well priced, but can't really find reviews on it, has anyone used it or knows about it? How does it compare to MT?

I'm looking to avoid LS2, huge number of fakes and such. IS there any exceptional helmet by LS2 i could consider otherwise, in this price range?

Also, what about brands like SOL, KYT and such? Could anyone provide info on these?

                            THANKS!

Check out the Airoh (made in Italy) range of helmets which start at around Rs. 7000/-. I have been using one for the last five years and have had no issue with it. The helmet is rock steady even upto speeds of 180 kmph and has decent ventilation. Changing the visor is a breeze whilst on the go. Make sure you buy a tinted visor which is available at a discount only at the time of purchasing the hemet. The helmet inners can be easily dismantled, washed and put back together. Available at Bachoo Motors, Mumbai with shipping facilities available to the rest of the country.
