AGV K3 SV starts at Rs. 17k goes upto 22k with graphics. It is a 4 star SHARP rated helmet but has high wind noise as per reviews. Dealer says it is meant for city.
AGV K5S starts at Rs. 25k all the way upto 36k.

I think I should look for HJC. IS-17 seems to be a good bet. 5 star rated and fairly quiet. Any idea where I can try one in Chennai?

I have AGV K3 SV and HJC CL15.

The CL15 is Snell rated but it's somehow heavy on head.

Both AGV and HJC are 1.5kg in weight but somehow agv is very good. I have a stiff and weak neck issue but AGV's weight distribution and design is superb.

What would be your usage for your helmet?

For the budget you mentioned. It's hard to get Snell rated helmet in India at that price, see if you can find someone to bring it from US or other country for you.

2 questions

1. Are MT helmets made in India !?
2. Are the manufacturers of MT helmet and Axor helmets same !? I have been told the factory where MT helmets are made also makes the axor ones. The design of some of MT helmets and axor helmets are exactly same ! No difference in the structures and design of vents or colour and stitching of even the foam. Is it then wise to rather pick up an axor over MT !? Axor being cheaper here.

2. What are SCORE helmets?

Axor is imported in India by Vega. Unfortunately its not a well know brand. Also another thing to consider is that Axor isnt listed in SHARP's manufacturer list. If I were to splurge my money into a helmet, I would atleast make sure that the manufacturer's name is listed on SHARP's website. Also its not uncommon that certain manufacturers will copy the design of another helmet.

Guys can anyone suggest where I can try helmets of brands like HJC, AGV, Bell, Shoei in Chennai?
I am looking for something which is rated both by Sharp 5 star and Snell. Suggestions welcome. Budget about 15k
I have MT Blade now and I need to upgrade. I am looking for something rated well for quietness.

Hjc fg 17
Snell rated and sharp 4 rating
Been using it for few months, its a good helmet overall and light weight.
Costs 15k

Again, back to my original question, Why not SOL??

MT revenge because it provides best protection at its price.
It has eps liner all around.
I have crash tested both mt revenge and sol sl 68
Crashed in mt around 130 kmph and in the sol arnd 70 kmph
Both did its job but if the sol had been in mt's place, i doubt if i could have walked away with no injury.
The sol has eps liner in shape of a half helmet ie it has no eps liner around ears and in the front.

Thats why i mention MT revenge over sol anyday and MT is lighter too.

Dude !! Go for ink series in ls2!! Trust me u wont be disappointed!! I am using myself!! Padding is much better than the rest!!

Smk twisterwhich is proven to be good by many riders and mt mugello which is a very good 4 star sharp rated helmet.Both are good helmets mt is slightly better.
