i've been planning on buying a new helmet for quite sometime now...although my parents are of the opinion that my old vega cruiser is fine for me its very tight thus making riding a pain in the butt....my ride is a honda activa and although it isn't a high preformance vehicle its still the best i've got...so i've been exploring helmets within a budget of 2k...i'd appreciate some suggestions for which brands to go for and also some tips for its maintanence...thanks

A helmet should be snug, not tight, there is a very thin line separating snugness and an uncomfy tight helmet.

Irrespective of your ride, spend the maximum you can on riding gears, life never gives a second chance,
for your budget, you may have Studds/SteelBird/MPA agv/ and maybe LS2/Cross helmets,
i would recommend to go for a full-face helmet, which doesn't have the flip-flop(modular) mechanism and don't mind spending extra 0.5-1K of you have to, for a good helmet

i went recently to the big bazaar & saw a helmet branded as "slick".it is a modded one. Means it can be used as half face & full face both. The price is under 1k & is looking good. has anyone got any idea about it ???

its copy of studds ninja..however the mechanism of the slick model isnt that good as compared to ninja

I am going to buy a new LID v.soon ... so here are some of my queries :

1. Are CROSS helmets cheaper in China ?
2. My family member is going to china this week and will it be a good decision if i ask him to bring a good lid from there or i should buy in india ?
3. What are the chances of getting a wrong sized helmet from there ?
4. My budget is 3.5k to 4k ... suggest some good helmets in this range. it would be too good if you attach a pik of it .
my ride is a black 220 , i need a good looking helmet.

Please help ... i am seriously confused.

Have you tried out Cross helmets ? Do they fit you well ? If yes, then go in for a design of your preference from the same model range as what you have tried out (generally you will find n designs on a same model / mould for each manufacturer). Do some googling for various designs.

There are several helmets that fall into the 3.5 to 4k range (Cross, LS2 etc) - search this thread for more

cross helmets will be cheaper in china, but to find a genuine one(IN china) is very less likely. for the budget you have you'd be better off buying here. you can shoose from cross/agv/ls2/vega. i'd go with the others over Cross though.

i havnt tried any CROSS yet. they are not available in lucknow.

this is mmy new lid...finally settled for a vega boolean and had a mercury coated visor fixed on it..final cost 2k exact..i'd appreciate feedback...thanks
