xpranav. Thanks for the input; I shall check it out during my next leave.Originally posted by xpranav View PostYou should check out the SPG Icarus ............. it has a lot of mesh material around to allow the user to afford a lot of ventilation and yes I own it and have ridden wearing it in Delhi Summer
krish2778. Thanks for the gen; will check this out too. I don't care much about the rain liner as I prefer my trusty Duckback rain suit.Originally posted by krish2778 View Post@icemang,
I would suggest you 2 options,
teh A* Tgp air , the new model with the rain liner , that will cost about 15k something i think, i have seen the jacket and had asked for proper reviews and they are really happy with it, the armor is really light and great, the air flow is superb, the rain liner is also effective in the.
Now the next suggestion i would put forward is the spartan gears, in that the hyperion / helios, now i don't need to explain the differences between the hyperion and helios to you, you would easily understand once you see it.
the spartan range has the knox armor, lightweight and flexible and comfortable to wear , just like the a* , and air flow is really really good on this one, can't compare with a* as i havent ridden in one, you don't tend to sweat even with 3-4 minutes of idle in traffic(have tested it :-p and i sweat like a pig) , now coming for rain protection, the rain liner of the SPG range works like a charm, i can vouch for that.
You can read the full review in my signature if you are interested in the spg product.
Cheers

One query again, for the avid jacket researchers on the thread:-) Is there any jacket available in India that is predominantly leather? The DSG Maze has some leather on the shoulders and back but is mostly textile mesh. No full leather jackets + integral armour around?

icemang , if budget is not a problem the alpinestar leather jacket is really good. I know a guy who uses it on almost daily basis and he says it is really comfortable. It comes with all the internal protection as well as optional chest pad pockets.

A full leather jacket would be heavy and very hot to wear unless perforated. You would be better off with your existing jacket.Originally posted by icemang View PostIs there any jacket available in India that is predominantly leather? I've had first hand experience with this one. Very hot and the "CE" armours are a joke.Originally posted by Kunwar.g View Post
This is a very nice jacket and if you can afford it, this is what you should go for. Remember though that the back and chest protectors cost extra.Originally posted by snehithpereira View Post@icemang , if budget is not a problem the alpinestar leather jacket is really good. My SOL Metalman II which has been in storage for almost a year and was only used for occasional rides(barely covered 2k kms so far) has its plastic vent(the one near the mouth) break off. The plastic seems flimsy. Anyone know if i can claim warranty on it? I still have 2 months on warranty and SOL hasnt responded so far :/Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

I had just checked with the HelpDesk admin about your mail. They have received your mail with details time-stamped only today at 7.23pm - just 20 mins ago!Originally posted by Nithesh View PostSure. Can you pm me your mail id plz? thanks for the help.
Anyway, I couldn't delve further since they have closed for the day. Expect a reply tomorrow. You can't expect them to respond to your query BEFORE you send them a mail, can you?
