Ok, So In helmets I've seen two options that look attractive :
KYT rc-7 provent : just under 3k, claims ece-r22.05, KYT RC Seven Provent Helmet: White Red - 2,950.00Rs
SPG Kranos : recently launched, just about 3k, claims dual DOT and ece approval.
    Thoughts on either?

In jackets, the SPG Icarus and Atlas both look great and I'll be getting one of these. I can't figure out the difference between these two though. Are there any significant ones?

The gloves are confusing. You seem to suggest that full gauntlet is preferable to short ones, but since I'll be doing most of my riding in Delhi city, and Summer is here, wouldn't the full gauntlet gloves get extremely uncomfortable?

Icarcus is mostly mesh while Atlas is mostly textile. Since you are in Delhi, get Icarcus. And get thermal liner for use in winters.

      Ride safe and have fun.

I am using full gauntlet gloves from last 1 year and never it was uncomfortable for me at least here in Bangalore. If you get a good one it will be having air vents!!! And I am using icarus jacket also and is vey comfortable in summer too. But ASFAIK it doesn't come with thermal liner but comes with rain liner..

I had ordered M size. after i wore it with thermals i felt uncomfortable at shoulders and it was tight. so took the L and it fits just right with and without thermals.

          first impressions:
          1. good fit. way way way better than the DSG nero.
          2. rode at night to home yest and today morning to office. it kept me cool both the times. was expecting it to be a little chill due to the different mesh from nero. but it was fine. sweating has reduced a lot during day ride.
          3. armours are top notch and proper fit. very impressed with back protector. its sas-tech. getting these at that 7.2k was a steal.
          4. i tried the rain jacket. it actually fits right behind the jacket in the small pouch. the jacket is very thin. first question was is it reliable. sapna said its an international brand (forgot the name :P ) and its tough. wil take that word as of now and test in rains. it could have been and 2 inch more longer in height
          5. i felt pockets were a little smaller compared to the dsg i had (abt a inch maybe). my phone (note2) fits just right.
          6. one of the biggest neg thing is that the zip pull tabs are small and does not have a extension to it. make sit difficult to open and close with gloves on. dsg has a small cloth extension due to which its easier to open and close.
          7. the pouch at the back is multi-purpose. can fit in few things there along with rain jacket. just wish it were with zip rather than Velcro.

its way worth the price. The jacket is sure a looker be ready for few glances from people

          will post pics soon.
Got the same one on Thursday and agree with all the points the you have mentioned that I have got to experience yet.
Just like you, have been using the Nero all this while. Haven't used it yet as I await to start using it with the ride I await this week :P Good to hear that it cools things down over the Nero, one of the reasons I got it with the summer dressing up to roast us. The weight too seems a bit lighter than the Nero if the back armour is put out. The SAS tech protection is THE USP for this at the price point. The mesh in the jacket is top notch (seemingly used by the Alpinestars the finer one so should vent wind better than the huge ass ones) along with all the components it is made with. The next versions would be absolutely brilliant once the little niggles are ironed out. I have already decided to try and fix the chain issue with a DIY pull-tab. The infused carbon does give it a look that is different from everything else around but I would love to have some more information on those bits. The Rain Liner is very good and don't worry about the quality as they are world class. The pouch system is very useful. I would keep the liner un chained so that it would be a quicker way to put it on if the rains suddenly, especially with our lovely bangalore

Only little niggle that scrapped off a bit of of my grin is the absence of the green tab that was supposed to come in :P Got the orange blue and the red one and Sapna told they would get the green one later, probably ran out of the green ones as it is manufactured in Pakistan :P #MaukaMauka . Did you get the green ?

Wear it to college. Riding gears are meant to protect you from big hospital bills in case of a crash which can happen anywhere.

Please see the certifications; the ECE & DOT certifications on Kranos should be embossed, means, not a sticker job & comes along with the helmet & cannot be removed. If that's the case, simply close your eyes & pick up Kranos

Icarus is mesh jacket & Atlas is textile. Mesh allows more inflow of air & good during Apr, May, Jun in Delhi; textile blocks the air flow & helps you a lot during Dec, Jan & Feb + partly during monsoon. These are the only difference.

I started with short gloves (DSG Revive), but after using full gauntlet from SPG, I think, I feel a little more comfortable as I feel my wrists are protected. That said, I also had a minor break on my wrist bones in 2013 still wearing SPG Ares (full gauntlet). I tend to think positive considering the damage was minimal because of the gloves. Short gloves exposes a very negligible part of the wrist between the end of jacket & the short gloves. This is the difference. My pick always has been a full gauntlet.

Genuine A* gloves start at 4k plus. Also, buy it from authorized sellers to get the genuine product. Planetdsg is one such place.
