Yes cheta, i too had heard that from a Xbhp member in Cochin, when i had gone to AQ before for getting my LS2. Re-sellers are a point to be concerned about, now i have sent a mail to A* int site as advised by RG and and waiting for them to revert, if DSG is an Authorized dealers, ill be getting it from them directly, otherwise , the plan for A* will be scrapped for good.


Exactly Vijay, i had drawn that conclusion about re-sellers quite some time back, but during the time of purchase its kind of a dilema, but now im having something closer to a level head, from advice here , Im waiting for the A* guys to revert back, hope they do and then I'll make a decesion.

A very important note, everyone should read this.

I also agree on the back and chest protector part, in most of the reviews of this jacket, they praise the quality and air flow and how it lives up to its mesh character, but most of the people complain that for this cost it lacks a proper back protector , and the prices of the chest and back armor is right, i had checked it yesterday, but 13k is not in my budget, for that matter 8.5k isnt , ill have to save for a few more months for that(im a student).

How would you rate the Helios armour compared to this one , the back protector in particular ?

Krish, the bio armor is just a matter of pure personal choice. If you intend to chuck out more for the extra protection, go ahead, if you don't, then don't. It doesn't really mean you're sacrificed of your protection with the normal padded ones, it's just that the technology involved is taken to that extra level the house offers, of course you know that, so I need not circle back on that again, plus the advantages of the upgradable bio armor.

I myself had a pleasant experience with DSG folks, when I bought the AXO PRIMATO II boots. The transaction too was pleasant and got the stuff in three days, max. And I tried calling them numerous times for other product queries, most of the time, a chick answers the phone, customer rep I guess, she ain't that adept. But I don't know the guys' name, he always responds patiently and answers all my queries really well. On that note, I'd give them an A.

Let us know the confirmation if you get it from A* themselves directly, let's see.

i have bought riding gear from dsg third time for me the experience was again good they called the next day to confirm the order, check for sizing and corrected my mistake of choosing a wrong glove size.shipping after confirmation was done in two days almost .tracking number was provided for the package,and i receive the package within 1 week of ordering.you can call them for any queries they are always happy to help and do not hesitate to answer your question.

Thats another good review about customer satisfaction, so i guess, its ok, im currently waiting for the A* guys to reply to my query, lets see it they reply back, and will surely post it here.

. They have many nice huge stores to buy riding gear, motorcycle parts, bikes, and much more. And believe it or not, once u select a riding gear to buy, u can actually test it on one of their motorcycles to see if you like it I had a choice between a CBR 1000RR, a harley fatboy, a ducati monster. But obvious I had chosen a 1000RR. Any ways, was fun time. I did buy my suit, enjoyed it the next day on the track on a GSXR, and got it back to india. Here I have used it 4 to 5 times on my ex-400RR.. :P Sold it. Now I have stopped riding. I have always cleaned and polished the suit after every ride, kept it clean to avoid fungus, polished it every now and then. I have never taken a fall on it.The suit is in great shape. Here are the features of the suit:

TUV certified for race track use.

Full leather
Jacket and trowser detachable / attachable with a twin core ZIP.

There are lot of balaclavas out there. Right from 200 to 500 bucks. You need not always be brand conscious, and the "BRAND" loving part is purely a matter of personal choice.

They are 100% fake A* balaclavas sold in eBay for 200 sub range. That said, they just work as the other balaclavas out there and been made more or less from the same stuff like most other balaclavas. For 200 bucks they seem reasonable, and yes it's fake, at least you can flaunt to those unknown fellas, with a fake A* balaclava.

And yes there is Cramster balaclava too that are sold in eBay at around the same price tag!

You shouldn't think too much for a balaclava, if you ask me.

I have used the Cramster Balaclava. It is a good one for normal use. Doesn't cost much as well.

I got a few of these fake A* balaclavas from our gear shop in Cochin... and really love them over the Cramster and other previous ones I had. They are thin, absorb sweat fast and dry out in a jiffy too... perfect for the hot climates I live in IMO

+1, it doesn't mean all cheap stuffs doesn't work. It's just we need to extract the cheap from the cheapest!

I had picked up an Rajys Octane - camouflage , from Orion Motors Bangalore

It was an impulsive buy, so I didn't have much time to review about it after that.

I was looking at Alpinestar TGP pls Air ,and Rjays the quality of the padding and ventilation in Ocatane made me choose it. ( TGP Pls Air , being entry level for A* I felt it was a bit of letdown for my requirements).

My doubt is how versatile a jacket is Octane, its perfect for hot weather( that much I know from riding in Bangalore).

I am not sure how it would hold up in rain , or winter ( it do come with a dettachable thermal liner) ?

Can you please pitch in and let me know , if it should do or should I look for weatherproofing options for Rain and Winter ?

The Octane is a really a versatile jacket. It doesn't have a thermal liner, rather it has a plain waterproof liner, that protects you from winds and rain. Now I need to mention that, this jacket has superb ventilation, indeed the best of all the jackets I've owned. Remove the liner and it's pure-air flowing through you. With the liner on, it provides decent ventilation even on those hot and humid days.

That's a really good buy you've made. Myself and a lot of members, used or use the jacket and it's pretty much good entry level jacket for starters.

It works well on rainy days too, It can handle drizzles and medium rainfall without a glitch, but not heavy and torrential, as any mesh jacket would leak beyond its threshold.

Your jacket should last good for a long time to come.

I have to second your experience on its air flow, its absolutely good for a riding jacket . I was absolutely taken aback (pleasantly) once I start riding more than 30Km/hr speed .

Yup, I would get make it a point to get a good rain gear before I venture out in the coming rainy season.

There is always oversize raincoats which you can wear over your riding gear, as most of the senior members do. Make sure you run a size over to get the perfect fitting. For more info, go back the threads you will get all the info you needed.
