Almost all of the riding gears go through testing phase. There are a lot of home-made brands out there too, booming in on the riding gear bizz. Of course, fakes flood the market, you can't wipe them out completely. Corruption and India for that matterOriginally posted by pgaucha View PostJacket - i am happy to know that it had gone through prototype testing in chennai then definitely will take a look in the store directly and this is the review which i went so had a doubt in my mind Riding Gear suggestions My budget is very constraint so cannot afford to buy a leather jacket Max 6k only. What about Odysseus jacket whether it will be manageable for chennai climate.
Knee guards- i know it is fake but to provide basic protection i am planning to go for.Still i remember a hockey shin pads costs rs.500/- which can withstand any brutal hit by the ball.So at least i think so it will meet my expectation to provide safety.
Regarding fakes, Sunny summed it real well, so I need not reiterate.
+1 personally for investing in some good riding gear.
Orion Motors, Bangalore. They deal with all junk.Originally posted by Praj zm View Postcan anybody suggest me a good store in bangalore for buying some riding gears like gloves, jacket, knee guard
i need all this under 3000rs
please help
Probiker is a Chinese manufactured product. Now, people with their notion always go around saying, Chinese is fake, which clearly isn't true for the most part, although true to some extent.Originally posted by Praj zm View Postthanks for providing me info
i wanted a branded one ,
what do you mean by probiker (fake)
how is dsg motomesh,is it water resistant and does it have protective layer on the gloves
Chinese guys are excellent workhorses, and skillful replicators, so good, even the genuine stuff would fail in comparison to the fake product. That being said, Probiker gloves have been worn by me and my friends. Yes it's a Chinese brand. It's a good glove when compared to DSG Motomesh at that price point, provides good water-resistance, good comfort and fits the bill clean.
I've ridden with these gloves for more than 300 KMS and, I don't have anything significantly negative to complain about them.
Which your budget allows. Simple.Originally posted by vageesh79 View PostNow confused which one to go for - dsg aqua or cramster tundra for winter use.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Protection is prime. Almost all gloves come with strap, Probiker gloves just serve the purpose well. What is a glove without a strap? It's practically useless and it won't offer the comfort, fit and the foremost protection you need.Originally posted by Praj zm View Postthanks dude i am also looking for gloves without a strap

I would suggest you invest in a pair of leather gloves. There are a few good leather gloves in the sub 2k category.

I'd suggest to refrain purchasing from eBay. Save up some money, get the best you can offer. I myself have used leather gloves in cold and heat both extremities and they perform real well. Leather won't heat up as you've quoted, as they have perforations in between the fingers to allow for airflow and the hot air to escape through the same. Have been using them for years and they seem to be absolutely perfect.Originally posted by Praj zm View Postthanks dude

I know what you mean!!
I for one find it amusing that such a long purchase discussion went on for something that costs about 300 bucks. I mean, COME ON!!
The ProBiker gloves are made of textile completely, without any kind of durable material on it whatsoever. At best the protection is cosmetic and something that I might use on a mountain bicycle, where speed and impact are nothing compared to a motorcycle. While something is better than nothing in most cases, this choice is almost as poor as wearing nothing.
To the guy asking for advice, if I were you I would spend as much as I possibly can for my gear. Ask yourself this - is the skin on your palms worth only 300 bucks? If you went into a hospital for shredded palms or fingers from a fall, it would cost you more than 300 bucks to fix - trust me - I been there done that about 20 years ago and even THEN it cost me more than 300 bucks. If you're ever in town, look me up and I'll show you the scars.
I'm sorry if I sound a little impatient but this is supposed to be a forum where we share knowledge and experience that should be at least a little above the lay-person's "I don't know jack" or " I don't give a crap" standard. Inexperience and lack of knowledge is acceptable - lack of common sense is not. If you're really so broke that you cannot afford to buy a decent pair of riding gloves, buy an ordinary pair of leather gloves off any pavement in any city for about 200 bucks. I guarantee they will do a better job than these.
