  • Hi guys, I am planing to get SOL metal man red to match my upcoming sunset red yammie r15. Is the helmet comfortable for long rides?

Also something is better than nothing, so with budget constraint, can I consider getting such gloves?

EDIT: I happened to speak with DSG Pune, I was told that the Revive was planned to be discontinued, however due to heavy demand they are coming up with one more batch of those gloves.

TJ - the Pegasus IS available in XL! Contact Megha or Let's Gear Up! ( new outlet in HSR Layout) for a pair. FYI ALL Spartan gloves are available in 4 sizes - S/M/L/XL.

Although not exactly long lasting, why don't you take a look at this for your gloves A2Z Motorcycle Superstore | Products | Riding Gloves | DSG Motomesh Gloves - Black. This is near your place and pretty near your budget.
Regarding the helmet, better post it in the Helmet thread: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/universa...lmets-914.html

Did anybody get a chance to look at the RE accessories? How do they fare against the DSGs, Cramsters, Spartans?

          Thanks.

At lease I have been scouring the web but to no avail. The only reminiscent memories of them I remember is on the launch of the RE 500, scarce memories. I think we'll have to wait for a while now to see who bought them and their appropriate review.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
            The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

As of now, what I felt is that its worth to go for the leather jackets, boots and gloves. They are pretty good, and also very much reasonably priced.

Have you got to see them in person? Now there you go, even a good chance for RE to loot from it's products, no offense! At least from the prices, they seem reasonable. Reliability? Only time will tell.

Also I don't think you're gonna see this as ubiquitous as other rider gears, as it's purely directed towards the so called "modern day RE macho" plus you have RE logo etched in all cervices of their apparel. Brand power is gonna play a big role with these accessories, let's see how it unfolds.

Will I personally get one? Nope, as of now.

But I wonder where do they manufacture these stuffs, India, China or locally brewed with tagged up prices. Damn I just wish I got to see them in person!

                Cheers!

yah mate i have seen these personally, and also tried them.
Boots : The build quality and the finish is really good. I have seen other boots and all. These are really worth buying. Believe me it is.
Gloves : They are also pretty pretty good.

Reliability, i can say that it will be reliable. the leather quality is top notch. No compromise has been done about that.
                  I just loved the boots.

Only one problem is that in every product, you will find a RE logo. That may stop other bike riders from buying it.
I have seen the RJays, Alpinestar and all.
I am not comparing it with others as of now. But I can say that the quality is really good.
The only thing that i did not like is the textile jacket. That should be around 5k.

And where do they manufacture .... You really want to know
you wont believe it mate .... The jackets and the boots are made in Pakistan

Bang on! Bang on! Honestly I have a few piece of riding gear, and some of them are made in Pakistan, and that's the exact reason I didn't bring in Pak into the equation. So that cleared up some air. Thanks much mate.

At least from the looks, they seem good. Really looking forward for a good review by users. How are the gloves? Leather or textile, any knuckle protectors or just plan punk gloves?

                    Cheers!

The gloves are good. I have gloves from KTM, then DSG. But this one had better quality. It was comfortable. I tried it properly. It has got the knuckle protection on all the five. And all the gloves are leather. But one thing man, it has got Royal Enfield written on the first finger. It may stop other riders from buying it .

And man I had bought a leather jacket from US. It did cost me around 12k along with the armour. I got it from US man, but you wont believe me man. It was written inside 'Made in Pakistan'. I got it from US still.

Thanks Sunil Sir. I had called up Spartan experience center number mentioned on the website too but was told that currently there is no stock n the next lot would come in another 10 days (This was 3-4 days back).

Finally picked up Spartan Pegasus (L) from Lets Gear Up, HSR Layout, Bangalore. Picked up a tinted visor for my SOL helmet as well.
Have ridden only 8 kms with the gloves so far. The overall feel is very good, getting used to the gloves though, feels lot different than my MX3.
I felt at home with the MX3 instantly but not on this, maybe due to this being full leather. The level of protection appears to be excellent (much more than my Cramster MX3).

Have attached pics (Taken from my 2MP Cellphone camera, pls bear with the image quality). Will post a detailed review once I munch some miles with this.

Oh boy, the import export, and back to consumer is looong story, if only I could start, it could go on and on and on. But yes, what you'v said is 100% true.

Nice buy. Spartan Pegasus is far better than at least this version of Cramster MX3. You could have really gone for the Phaeton from Spartan, really a good glove for the value it offers. Regarding the break in, all leather stuffs do take some time to break-in, once it does you'll feel comfortable.

2200 bucks, give or take, plus shipping extra I guess.

Have not used DSG myself so cant comment. I checked out DSG Revive and this glove side by side (not to choose one, the choice was made long before that :P, but just because it was there at the outlet) and Pegasus was a clear winner to me (or am I being too biased :P). It costs 2250 plus local taxes if you buy locally or 2250 plus shipping (i think its 250) if bought online.
