yes....though i hate dates everyone else in my family loves them..so in a typical market there dates are sold in buckets(yes u read it right) and we usually get one which weighs around 4-5kgs whenever we go there

i wish i could bring petrol from there...cheap (about 15 rupees a litre) , clean and unadulterated...if i could...i'd bring a year long petrol supply for myself

Congrats. Now don't tell me you've become a "Spartan" as such by stating legendary.

Has anybody owned a Cramster Pulse jacket here? I thought they were supposed to be waterproof but the recent rains in Bangalore proved them worthless for rain riding

Nothing in India beats the sh1t out of rain more than a 200bucks Wind Cheater.
No jacket gonna be completely waterproof I guess until its very much overpriced.
I the recent search I was going through I came to know that finding a waterproof jacket and paying extra for it is useless.
I'd rather buy a jacket + pant in the same money.

But yea soon its gonna rain in Mumbai for nonstop 3 months.
My Pirelli gonna make me fall for sure.
So this jacket + a wind cheater over it and speed of 40-50 can only save me from getting wet and injured.

about the jacket..basically one is a mesh jacket which has cordura at impact areas and the other is a complete cordura jacket and the same material at impact area...hmmm...

I removed inner layers, viz., thermal wear and water-proof rain wear one by one and separated them from the outer mesh layer. I then thoroughly inspected the location of hooks on each layer. I examined the protection pads provided at various places to know their intended purpose. I re-assembled the layers together and hooked them together at appropriate places. Phew! That's a time well-spent.

As far as I have seen here on the thread, none of the riding jacket can serve you as a perfect rain-proof wear in case of heavy downpours, surely they have rain liners but they are not good for a rain like cats & dogs. Instead buying a slight oversize raincoat/wind cheater kind of stuff will serve the purpose well while you wear your riding jacket beneath it.

Almost 90% of the jackets do seep water in during a heavy rain. Best protection? Good old nylon rain suits over riding gear or rain cost.

Remember, "water-resistant" not "water proof" Though it's gimmicked as such it isn't the case. Pretty sad

                          Hye!
I spent most of my childhood there as well, and my parent are still in there. And in query to the jackets, you do get them there, biking culture has grown exponentially there! When I was there in December I got a Lazer Vertigo helmet and an Alpinestars Mesh summer jacket from there. There are a few shops to look at, you even get leather jackets there.

I live in Muscat, Al-Ghubra. Hahaha, yeah, there are mainly supermarkets. There are mainly 2 shops that are pretty good, one is the HD showroom in Al-khuwair and the other is a small shop in Bariq-al-shatti, near the Intercontinental Hotel, on the 1st floor above Starbucks. The jacket cost me 80 OR. It is kinda expensive, but then since all gear there comes in small quantities, its bound to be. I bought my things from the small shop (cant remember the name at the moment), its run by 2 guys from Bahrain, really amazing guys, spent 1 hour talking to them there. They both ride themselves, one a BMW S1000RR and the other a Hyosung GT250N.

i do dream everyday of shifting back there and enjoy riding on those smooth roads..but then parking is a big problem..we have a apartment there(not a buglow with parking) and i guess parking a bike on the corniche parking would be dangerous...
