I'm planning to buy the red one, it is available in my size, its a total vfm, as far as my second best option is concerned it would be Helios or Icarus.
Do try cramsters too, they were my primary selections until i came across spartan, they too are a good buy but while going through the thread i came across a lot of posts suggesting the degradation in quality of cramsters!!
Also check out planetDSG and rjays.

      Hope this helped

Also of some one could shed some light on my query too, it would really generous of you!

Instead of "Killer Features" any riding gear needs to be evaluated for its protection. Sunnyside_up said once that he wasn't too impressed with the built quality of Zeus.. had found the Cramster Jackets to be better built

        Sunny,

Any inputs on this particular back protector? It's branded as Viscotec.. the size and dimensions seem to match with the Sas-Tec back protector.

I have one of these, retreived from an imported jacket.

DJ Helmets in Cochin have ZEUS gears, though I wouldn't recommend it for summer riding, which is the weather we have most time here. It's a textile jacket with a few zippers for ventilation. Have look at the fb page of DJ helmets for pics.
For people up north it might be a sweet deal, but for people down south , at the same price or lesser there are much better options which would fetch you a jacket that won't cook you in the summer and wont get you all wet during the monsoons too.

Zeus does not have chest or wrist protection as stated in their site when I checked it out.can someone confirm this?more textile is always better than more mesh as far as protection is concerned at cost of airflow.

Even I din find any chest protector when I tried out Zeus, but I din mention it as I thought there was some other models which had the chest protector.

Though I would agree to a certain extent abt the textile part, yes abrasion resistance is more, but even in mesh, when you have high grade mesh, the abrasion resistance is almost on par with that of a textile I think, experts can correct me if i am stating something wrong.
But ultimately, the choice is of the user, go for a high quality mesh or go for textile.

^^ Totally agree. Instead of reading tall claims, please do verify the facts for yourselves. The next best thing is to look for reviews of the product from fellow bikers who already have the product and can give you a first hand account. I have examined this one and in my opinion the Cramster K2K is much better made. I too did not see any chest protector in the jacket I examined.

In addition to Krishna's post, please remember that having the best quality material and armour is of no use unless you can wear the product. I was gifted a full leather jacket with d3o armour in it from BMW - possibly the best possible combination available from the technical standpoint made by a manufacturer of repute. It hung in my closet totally unused for about a year due to the sheer impracticality of wearing leather in a hot climate like Chennai. A full textile jacket with waterproof seams will give you the same steam bath effect in South India.

IMHO, its better to have a product that you can actually use in your particular climactic conditions.

                    Buddy,

Its very similar to SasTec, if not the same. SPG did initially contact them through the production house, for that matter even SasTec themselves, before existing synergies resulted in narrowing on KNOX.

There is another company based in the USA too that makes similar materials that I am in touch with too, though their focus is on riot police and body armour for soldiers. Truly space-age stuff but sadly too expensive for our country.

Also has there been any history of problems with Breezer 4.0?

Buddy for your useage, I would suggest 3 options,

Cramster Eclipse, Spartan Hyerion , Rynox Stealth

Cramster eclipse , I have no first hand experience with this jacket, but it has really popular reviews here form a few senior members, swearing by it, do search this thread for detailes, i think you haven't searched deep enough.

Spartan Hyperion, having bought and tested it over 4-5 months in all weather conditions possible, I would say it is a great product, you can read my review here, Spartan Hyperion (Riding Jacket) – Reviewed | Wheels'n'Shields
Armor is top notch, options for upgrade for back armor, super cool during summers, very effective rain liners for monsoons, and also serves as thermal liners,(unless it gets too frigging cold),but ultimately it is a summer jacket with all round capabilities.

Now rynox stealth, this is a proper touring jacket, the design is good, good protection, and have 6 ventilation zippers which are placed at the right spot for nice air flow, and protection from rain will be superior as it is a textile jacket, and being rynox, one can expect great quality from them, that is my experience from their other products. SO the rynox is an equally good contender to the spartan.

                            Hope these pointers help.

I've been reading a lot about how the inclusion of a thermal liner in addition to the rain liner provided in most jackets makes that particular product the "most" VFM. I have also been inundated with PM's asking about thermal liners. This makes no sense to me since 90% of the guys who buy mesh jackets hardly even use their rain liner - leave alone the thermals. The inclusion of a thermal liner means that you are actually paying upfront for a feature that you are never likely to use. Wouldn't you prefer to have the CHOICE rather than have it forced on you?

In any case since such a hullabaloo has been made about it, I thought it would be pertinent to point out that the cheapest of the three listed in the post above, the ICARUS, comes with the most complete rain liner of the lot, since it is actually a separate garment, while in both the other two, it is just that - a liner. Now you can add a thermal liner (again a completely separate garment) for just Rs.800/- IF you think that it is useful to you- and that would mean that the total cost is now just Rs. 4300+800=Rs.5100/-, still the cheapest with ALL liners included.

Sometimes the obvious is too close to our nose to recognise it quickly.

In addition the same mesh jacket if provided without the rain liner can bring down the cost. I would go for this option as wearing a raincoat over the jacket is quicker and more effective if caught by rain in middle of riding. What say?
