      Hey riders,
I was considering a pair of boots and a full leather suit for track days.
I had my eyes set on the A* SMX-5 boots. But after trying out SIDI Cobra, even though its a little over my budget decided on it. But need help from you all regarding the leather 1 piece suit. Cramster sells a 1- piece suit for 26000. How is the quality and reliability ? The AGVSPORT-Willow is available in PRS. But on the higher side of my budget. DSG has introduced a 1 piece suit as well. I m confused. My pockets suggests the Cramster. But my heart wishes for the AGV Sport.
Any suggestion and options would be welcome.

        Hi,
This might be ot, but i have some suggestion for manufacturers.
1.A short glove, for incessant rains here(i stay in mumbai).Should be of textile-leather combo, with enough protection as required.Hate to take out trg2 in rains.Need was felt when on last ride, just 1 rider out of 7 had some cheap motocross textile gloves, rest including me were riding barehands, barring that we were fully geared.Guide me if theres any such thing present in market.
2.A riding boot, something from spartan/dsg/or other such similar setups.

Any reviews of spartans knee guard?

Special mention of Spartan helios. It was faboulous in summer, and its nothing short of faboulous in rains as well, with liner.I was dry in light to medium rains, and the liner also excels in preventing the chill from setting in, in medium cold climate.
        Motorcycling heals, big time...

for textile-leather combo gloves, these are a good option: Spartan Pheaton
          Spartan Pro Gear

In my opinion, you made the right decision regarding the boots. Sidi's are a dedicated footwear brand and it shows in their truly awesome products. I would suggest that you opt for the AGVSport Willow too. I have used one and though entry level, is still a very nicely made product.

I too would love to have the AGVSport. But my pocket doesn't permit. Any review about the cramster. I heard negatives about cramster for its bad quality gloves. But never got any sort of review regarding the Race Suit. Any inputs would be helpful.

Just checked, the latest DSG Rage Jacket, its been upgraded with the new PU "Turtle Shell" Armors that you said is used by imported brands.

Now the armors actually "feel" softer and "might feel flimsy" to touch and feel from outside the jacket. But we all now know that the protection will only be better with these armors.. also it definitely is more comfortable to wear now.

Not sure if the DSG Triton also got the new Armors.. will have to check.

RJays Sprint Boots are really an excellent stuff and has gotten really good reviews. Useful for practicality and protection, but the only drawback is it isn't full length boots, but I'd suggest you go for Rjays Highway boots for complete affordable range. Ankle is always better than short length.

Regarding jacket, the Swift is their cheapest in the lot. An okay jacket but since being Aussie, it costs a little more. But as an entry level stuff, Swift is really a good jacket. But personally I'd suggest you to look for brands such as DSG, Cramster, Spartan and the likes

For incessant rains, it'd be wise idea to use textile glove rather than a leather, although the latter offers much protection. But when it comes to drying the gloves leather stuffs take time as opposed to textile. But leather mesh combo, I'd suggest you look for the DSG Revive, Nitro Spartan Pegasus and Cramster Flux.

Moreover any glove be it leather or textile when drenched, does make the palms feel worse. Better get yourself a nylon waterproof glove in those cases, cheap and it works.

I'd suggest you consider saving up a tad more and then going for the AGV stuffs. It's not to undermine DSG or Cramster as such, I know quite a few people who use Cramster suits and do track days here in Cbe. But for that occasional track day stuff, Cramster is okay, but if you're a serious one, I'd suggest you invest in better quality. AGV is the cheapest when it comes to track suits apart from their big counterparts. And quality and life, being AGV you can expect some. But I'd suggest you not to go for DSG.

                      Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

I haven't checked either the DSG or Cramster suits.. in photos the Cramster Suit's color combination appears a bit tacky.

go 7-8 pages back and read from that.. A lot has been discussed about "water proof" jackets..
                            not one is 100% water-proof..

An all weather jacket would be a compromise in very hot summer, chilly winters and heavy rains... it won't be perfect. Only in a city like Bangalore where the climate is mild nearly throughout the year, an all weather jacket makes sense.

Don't expect a jacket to be 100% waterproof unless its a specialized water proof jacket.. ones which are uncomfortable in the Summer.

A Mesh jacket with a Quilted Thermal liner is best for India. If you want to ride in monsoon, than wear a raincover on top of the jacket.

finally got a rain suit which can go over my riding jacket! monsoon woes are a distant memory now except for waterproof gloves for hands and waterproof riding boots. are there any waterproof riding boots available for a max of 6k ish? else waterproof boot covers from enfield seem to be the only way to go for me currently using quechua boots and while they are not water proof, they are water resistant and atleast prevent my feet from getting wet for the regular commute.

rain liner provided with spartan jackets works great and indeed can be worn stand alone, but no one here has commented on how ridiculous it looks while wearing such a short rain coat! knowledge from experience
