The Viaterra claw will be a good option.

I need the bags for a 25 day Zanskar-ladakh trip and also a few shorter trips before that. I have a lot of photography gear that I will be carrying along with other stuff. And also It will be great to have a bag in which I can carry a 5 litre Jerry can for petrol.
I was looking forward to the Rynox Nomad V2 but a review states them to a bit too big for the duke is that so ? and I don't think I can carry the jerry cans with those bags. I wont be riding with a pillion so thats not an issue. Also they are out of stock right now and I have a trip planned for next week.
Is the Viaterra Claw a good option ?
I am getting the Rynox optimus S tank bag. What I couldnt find was whether it has straps to tie it to tank cause I dont trust the suction cups. ?

The Optimus-S does have straps to tie down the bag on the tank. At least this was the case in the older ones that I have seen. They hold their position perfectly once secured properly and carry a lot of luggage. Have tried it on a friend's 200 Duke and it was filled to the brim!

I would suggest you to wait and try out the Nomad V2 Saddle bags on your bike. I believe it is going to come in stock within a week. Also the ViaTerra Claw, as mentioned, is a good choice as well if you dont like the regular tail bags. However, I am yet to come across any soft luggage which has provision for carrying a Jerry can.
You can take the ride away from me but you cannot take the rider out of my soul.........

You should ask Sandeep Patnala regarding the optimus tank bag. He is using one. I don't know if its S or M.

Ride safe and have fun.

That thread helps a lot bro!. Thanks a lot. I am almost sold on the claw now

Thanks motormania Thats all that I was waiting for, now I am ordering the Rynox optimus S. I guess its perfect for my needs. Also the Nomad V2's are a bit expensive and I can't wait for a week as I have a ride planned for 14th feb. And after going through the review of the claw I guess I am going to get one.
Thanks a lot nadz11.ns I am already sold on the Optimus S

The guards are well in place. The visibility stripes are subtle but very bright under direct light. Will come back with images and a full review later.
If you can, do some photos, of the jacket inside out. Most knock off and new entrant brand jackets aren't that bad at all. Indeed they're all made of same materials, and it's the build quality that matters over the long run. But do post some detailed photos of the jacket, and armor if applicable.

Nomad is an excellent bag, and the V2 does the duty. But for KTM, you can consider the Dirtsack which are specifically tailored towards KTM with a dash of orange and they call it speed bag, with so called a trapezoidal design, two of my KTM friends have these bag and look real chic. RYNOX are very large bags, very very quality and costs more.

You also have a tailbag with is same as the Viaterra Claw sans the inverted U hump, owned by one of my friend.

B7ACKTHORN thanks for the suggestion. After considering all those bags and checking them out at adventure 18, I bought the Viaterra Claw. The speedbags are a bit on the smaller side and the Nomads a bit too big. So I bought the Viatera claw for rs 2750.

Now the problem is I am unable to mount the bag properly. I know there is a video that shows how to do it on the duke 200 and I did exactly the same but the problem is that the tail lamp strap holds up fine but the other two straps keep moving up and down which makes the bag move side ways on speed bumps. I tested it with a few clothes and my camera backpack ( yeah the claw easily fits my camera backpack! ). Am I doing something wrong ?

With straps the trick to keep the bag in place is to keep the bag stretched from both ends (front and rear).

There should not be a slack.. because it is the "tension" from both ends that keeps the straps through the Double D-Rings in place. Therefore make sure that the bag is stretched from both ends.

As Payeng said, tightening it is the key, but the drawback is uneven loading on rough terrain does rattle the bag on the looser end. But tightening the retention straps will help help keep it more secured.

Appreciate the photoset. But just from the photos I don't see any different from what's sold on the market with LS2, but as I reiterated, only time will tell and the usage statistics. But thanks for sharing the photos

From price range 4500rs to 8000.

All the jackets are same.
The build quality and material specially.

Just the Inside Armors differs a bit.

In your case. The jacket is same as Cramster Breezer from the material to mesh and even the reflectors. The logo on back is also at the exact place like Cramster.

Do not worry for now.

A new jacket is same as others.

You'll come to know about the quality after usage of some months. Either it stays the same or starts going down.

As you're asking direct answer.
Right Noe the deal looks good enough.

Sird, a few important basic corrections there, all the jackets are not the same, the grade of the mesh used in the construction, the grade of the cordura fabric used in certain places (impact areas/ sliding prone areas) differ a lot in the lower price range to higher price range models, it differs even when changing form one brand to another. The type of mesh used, some are heavy , some are light , then comes the armor, even a level 1 armor varies depending on the material it is made from , there are double foam type protectors, there are turtle back(not sure of name) like the one found in the new DSG range and then there are bio armor like in teh a* and knox has something similar. All of them change, according to price and manufacturers.

So please do not categorize them as being same based on the price range or the company. A lot of reading and researching should be done before selecting a jacket for a specific persons specific needs.

Cheers

Thanks for the response. I was a bit worried if I had been duped or something.

It might be similar to the breezer but it is not "same as cramster breezer" as Sird says. I have checked the differences. And plus this one looks better than the breezer IMO.
