Hey guys, I bought Spartan Ares gloves from Biking Spirit about a week back. But they don't have hooks to attach it to the jacket as mentioned in a couple of user reviews on xbhp. Has the design been changed?

For e.g here is a pic taken from xpranav's review; The part shown in red circle is missing in mine.

Two versions are in production. Both with and without the clip. Personally while I like them, there are several riders who did not like the clip dangling off the side, hence the second version was introduced. Cheers!

Thanks for the clarification. I don't think I'm ever gonna use that clip. So, I think I'm better off with this version

BTW, I also bought the Helios along with the gloves. It's a great jacket. I don't get even a drop of sweat in my daily commute of 45km (both ways) in city traffic. The only small gripe I have is that the adjustment near the elbow could have had a bit more range for tightening. May be I need to get a bit fatter

1.5 Year back i got these gloves from Planet DSG for around 5K and today while i was browsing ebay.in found the same gloves being sold by some seller for 3K .( Alpinestars SMX 2 AIR Carbon Black Leather Motorcycle Gloves | eBay ) . Even now this model ( SMX2 ) is being sold by Planet DSG for around 4500 . So if any one is looking to buy a good branded gloves in 3K range grab these gloves. They are pretty good for city use.

P.S My gloves dint last long but i love the quality and the feel of these gloves.

for 6 long years the extra S in title of this thread has bugged me. It has given me sleepless nights.

Riding GearS. Riding Gear still remains Riding Gear even though it's plural.

I have the same ones in blue color. Anyone who plans on buying the Alpinestars brand, be really careful because there are a lot of fakes out there. So when it comes to huge price difference for the Alpinestars, I would suggest to stay away from the lower priced one. It is honestly really hard to distinguish the original from the fakes. Best option is to buy them from an authorized/trusted importer

My first gloves were 'alpinestars' and I was really happy that I got them for some 650rs it was before I joined xBhp. little did I know what these brands are.
Mostly the stuff on ebay is fake (there are exceptions) and would not recommend anyone to buy from it.

baba yeh ebay wala is all goli stuff you never know if its real or the second's stuff. once 10 days are gone you'd be sitting with a fake/2nd lot glove..
rather if you have friends/relatives travelling from uk/us. order during sale season and let them carry it. far better , cheaper and reliable option..

ok in these i would suggest the tarmac full length boots available at bachoo motors. the look feel and quality seems very very good. i tried it at bachoo motors a week back!

now coming to my query- i just decided to go on a buying spree to buy gears for my upcoming purchase the rc390. ok i know its weird that i dont have a bike yet and still want to buy gears now. but then there is a catch- im posted in a weird city called Ludhiana where you dont get anything. so trying to pick up all the gears if and when i travel to Mumbai/Hyderabad/Bangalore/Kolkata as i dnt want to be gearless when i buy thw bike or have to compromise by getting something then in haste which i wouldnt be happy about.
i have already been to Mumbai last week so i picked up the rjays carbon short gloves in white.
i also picked up the rjays all season pants.
i would like a MT helmet. please put in your thoughts. i heard they are good.
next is a jacket. im torn between the rjays octane ii and the spartan hyperion and the rjays is brilliant. smart protective good fitting and very good looking. but havnt got a chance to sample the hyperion. please suggest.
and lastly are the cortech latigo rr boots any good? whats the price after customs and all? or suggest some other good boots please within 14k. i was also thinking about the tarmac boots. as said earlier they look and feel very good.

answer given above... if either of you have friend's , relatives traveling from anywhere in EU or USA.. i would suggest buy during sale season for throw away prices and adk them to carry. besides helmets.. jackets , gloves etc are very easy to carry and does not attract customs..

this can be true to some extent : there can be 2 possibilities..

1. they are actually getting fake Astars from china , hong kong
2. they themselves dont know that the reseller have shipped them some fake items.

i came across Astar GP2 gloves which retails for 12k in India ( genuine) being sold for 2.5K sometime back. wont mention the seller etc
and trust me. i was amazed at the craftsmenship these guys have put to make a replica.. 100 % perfect copy.. only once you start wearing it
you'd know the fitting issues after a few km's.

Atlas riding gear

The bikingspirit showroom in bangalore sells riding gear and I have seen the brands atlas and knoxx..
The atlas jackets start from 4k while the pants from 7k...what do you guys think about this brand and shop?? Is it any good?
