  • @diffuser911: I have the Bionic ones. I totally agree with Inder's comments on the same. BTW, somewhere down the line you WILL want to wear your knee guards below the jeans/trousers/clothing. In such a scenario the Reflex Knee guards offered by AStar would prove more versatile.
The Bionic ones offer a little more protection by covering the whole knee joint and has a small aluminium insert for added strength.(I wonder how much that strength increases over the non-bionics though..) Lastly, the Bionics are pretty huge and don't forget, expensive. Also, they will most definitely scuff your bike's tank. Don't know about the Non-bionics though.

Also, the reflex ones by Astar seem to have longer shin-area protection, atleast from the pics. While the Bionics are mainly knee guards ONLY with a small area covering the shins upto the middle of the shin-bone.

I plan to buy full length riding boots later on and a proper textile based riding pant as well. So in either case(i.e with the Bionics or with the Riding Trousers,) the boots would complete the leg protection to quite an extent.

All the best with your decision.
Sorry, if I may have confused you.

No no there is no compromisation in the saftey offered....rather on the other hand the Bionic ones offer more safety..!! But, these are definately gonna scratch your tank as these are worn outside and at times the knee area does touch the tank..you might have observed this

        • @ inder and 46wannabe: Thanks a lot bhai log, now it's time for me to shell out some moolah. I guess will be going for the reflex as of now, as no way of trying on both to test the safety offered.

          • Among the DSG branded jackets, do check out the DSG "Maze" jacket.. its the outer is made up of mesh and a removable inner.. without the inner, the jacket is well ventilated and ideal for hot/summer wear.

The DSG Mesh jacket also has "Genuine Leather" on the shoulder area. Sizes are available from "S" (Small) to Extra Large.. I got mine in "S" size and fits me perfectly!! (The one in my profile pic is DSG "Spike", which is Ok for Cold/Winter/Rain wear.. but not exactly comfortable as a summer wear)

The DSG Maze is good value for money in India for 6000/- bucks.

Yep, it is available in Blue (Not complete blue, but combo of black mesh, leather and blue).

Here is a pic (DSG Ad in Magazines) of the DSG Maze Jacket in Black (Don't miss the P220 in the pic).

bout the tyres y do u think the FZ rears wont be good for smooth highway ride (am very new for tyres gyan )

a few pages back i was talkin about Mich Siracs , any idea how good are those ?

For Highway cruising the rear tyre of the FZ16 should pose no problem... just that the "Vyde" with its rounder contact patch might seem to provide more flickability/agility..

but then, I can't tell for sure since the FZ16's rear tyre is a "Radial" and the P220's one's aren't..
Radial Tyres are less prone to deformation

                        • I got DSG Maze for 5500/-
But that was before they publicized it on the net. And it is not available in blue. There is a new DSG jacket design. It is a textile jacket. And only red is available now. Blue will be coming in March.
It is bit similar to Snehmadhur's Alpinestar jacket. With all stripes and things. It is for 4500/-.

                          • How come many of the product I saw in Bike India are not being listed on the site. It's frustrating to live on the other side of the country.

@nitrosatya: Any pics buddy for the upcoming jacket?? I had to go through a lot to get my Daijya from Pune, asking Soumen (happybiking), who in turn might have asked you. Don't wanna miss out this time.

In my opinion, $120 is a bit costly.. Good Luck!
Yes, all those 70$ are available on online stores and on sale. It's really hard to check size in this way.

Moreover, I also liked this one. Is this one in 4500/-? where can I find it? It is not on the site.

                              • Satya, I have AXO, and not Astars. My AXO is good for winter, so even i am looking for a blue mesh jacket.
