Drove 30 kms.. feels good.. leather is soft and has ample protection.
In Stop and go traffic gloves heat a bit.. maybe afternoon sun was making it more hot..
Morning ride was comfy and has good ventilation..
Now trying to get used to puffed fingers while driving..

Hi Guys, i am planning to buy riding gloves.
Confused between SPG phaeton and DSG revive
How are the reviews of DSG revive. Has there quality reduced. Of late I have been hearing mixed reviews about DSG products with some saying that there quality has reduced.
The main reason i am planning to go for DSG is that i have a credit note (from outdoor travel gear, Bandra for those who know it) and they don't stock SPG products.
Has anyone bought the revive lately? Would like to know the reviews of the recent batch of Revive.

Thanks, I had a look at them. At about 1,40,000 they did take me by surprise. But I will give thios a good thought, don't want to compromise on safety, given traffic conditions in India and lack of emergency services avail.

For example their full suit (leather) is for only ~30,000 and is CE EN1621-1 certified! ..... I might be buying these, they are like 1/4th of the cost and since its CE certified I guess it will be good enough. Cheaper I believe as they will not be imported etc (like alpine etc) .

You can google and get to their website.

                  Cheers!

I guess they are new in the Indian market. Saw a couple of biker friends endorsing and talking about their jackets.

I have not heard about Solace before.

One word of Caution. It is not only the Armors that protect you. The materials used in the construction is equally important. Armors may protect you from impacts. Leather will protect you from rashes. But both of these could be weakened by poor stitching. If the thread used to stitch is not complementing the armor and leather, The Jacket could tear off at the stitch joint. The quality of leather used, the design etc also matters a lot.

I am not saying that their products are not good. Have a look.. Personally inspect them for loose stitches, materials used, quality in construction etc, If you can find someone who already use their products, check with them on the product and after sales service before you buy. Good Luck...

Guys recently I won an award in Company for which I was given a certificate & 4k rs for my performance. I have decided to buy a riding jacket with this amount + some amount added from my own pocket.
After reading a lot I have zeroed in on two, namely:
                            1. Spartan Helios
                            2. DSG Nero
Being from bangalore I prefer good all weather jackets which will give good rain protection.
I read DSG Nero is damn hot in summers. Not sure whether the thermal liners can be removed.
Maybe a better insight can be given by realtime users in Bangalore.
For me cold is not an issue as the winters are not that cold as North India.
Also regarding Helios I read somewhere that the mesh is not of good quality, so it might degrade in 2 years time.
As this will be a major investment, I have no plan to buy a jacket every 3-4 years. So what Im looking for is durable one.
So in short my requirements are:
                            1. Safety(Elbow,shoulder,back)
                            2. Good rain protection
                            3. Medium support in winters
                            4. Highly Durable
                            5. Value for money
                            6. My budget is not more 7k.
                            7. Warranty
                            8. Daily Usage

                              Congrats on winning..

                              1. Safety(Elbow,shoulder,back)

For Helios you can upgrade the back protection..

                              2. Good rain protection

Rain liner is detachable and available for Helios..

                              3. Medium support in winters

Can't comment.. haven't used in winters yet..

                              4. Highly Durable

                              Depends on your maintenance..

                              5. Value for money

                              They absolutely are..

                              6. My budget is not more 7k.

                              Helios is perfect..

                              7. Warranty

None of them will have warranty (I didn't get any) but manufacturing defects are covered for 6 months..

                              8. Daily Usage

                              Hell yeah!!!

You can try out the spg icarus if you are on budget and buy a nice pair of gloves or helmet or both.. icarus is amazing and the rain liner can be removed.. no thermal liner tho.. Helios is a upgraded version of the icarus.. something like Redmi is icarus and MI3 is Helios.. just a technical comparison.. not via price.. afaik the icarus and the Helios are both 600D cordura.. they are pretty reliable..

I can't comment anything about DSG..

Someone here might be able to help you out more..

                              Tapped from my HTC.
