  • Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread

I am going be investing some cash on good quality gear and my budget for this is around 15K INR

Its going to include the following:

    1. Gloves
    2. Helmet
    3. Jacket/Armor
    4. Guards for Knees, elbows and shoulders(if possible)

I have visited certain stores and I couldnt find good quality or branded gear. I know of PlanetDSG and Zeus Motorcycles, visited their websites and do have some decent gear

So I was hoping I could get some guide or help with regards to this, point me in the right direction or the right store! And also point out the item names or models for each of the above mentioned catergories!

P.S As for gloves on PlanetDSG, they have Alpinestarts Scheme Kevlar and SMX-2 AirCarbon for the same price of 4500. Pretty broken between those 2. Really dont wanna spend too much on gloves and cut short on other parts

Sorry Sal. I guess your ad is not yet approved. Anyway I'm not too keen on used apparels.

Anyway talking of DMS boots, are these any good?

I think you should take a look at the JCB Excavator boots as well. Far better than the benera boots.EXCAVATOR

Scoyco looks good but its doesn't feel safe just knuckle guards that too unknown plastic.. Don't have much idea about others.. Checkout PGS gears they are new in market may be they have some entry level gloves in your budget.

My JCB Excavator boots' sole got torn into pieces at the places of contact at the foot-rests. I had thrown them to the dust bin within two years. I am not satisfied with the quality of JCB Excavator.

Thank you, will keep that in mind. was going to get it for a cheaper alternative for riding boots.

                          Hi People,
Any reviews on the DSG Genesis Riding Jacket?
DSG Genesis Jacket: Orange - 7,999.00Rs

I'm not able to find any review online regarding the jacket, but according to the specification on their website, it has CE Level 1 padding all around and does look the part.
Currently I won a LS2 Riding Jacket which I had bought from a friend which was a bit oversize for me, so it didn't fit me all that well.

So, technically this will be my first proper Jacket, any tips on how the jacket should fit around the padding?

Please can someone help and give me the measurements for the foam back padding which comes with spartan Icarus please?
I want to buy a proper CE certified back armour which should slot in the compartment provided. Problem is I am not in India at the moment so can't be sure of the size.
I believe the helios padding is exactly the same. may be standard size after all, but please can someone measure and confirm the height and width of the Icarus padding please?
                            Thanks in advance!

Jacket looks good. But it's not quality work. In my case, stitches on back-side went bad just after two rides. It is getting worse with every ride. DSG's support isn't good. They stopped responding to my mails once I complained.

I would rather spend money on Spartan's jackets or Alpinestar's or other brands.

                              Cheers

Hi sir, The foam padding is about 35 cm in length, 30 cm in width and 1 cm thickness at the sides. In centre it's about 1.5 cm thick. Hope it helps😊
