Sure i can do that ... however i need some time as i am out for a 2 weeks ride. Yes i am taking Tundra also along with me, but as a secondary gloves to use it in rainy situation. Once i am back i ll do the same.

I have seen more people wearing Spartan pro jackets than any other ...the company should be good. I don't own one but its just an observation. So.many people use it including some of my friends, it must have some quality.

Buddy, no one will ever say that they are selling something that is not reliable or of good quality. Will they ?

The point that they say that they are distributing it means the label is built by someone else and they are just distributing it. So what are the wear abouts of this company where does it come from. Eg: HJC is being sold by someone in India but we all know the brand. Similarly Rjays is distributed by Bachoo Motors in India but Rjays is a brand that has a website, a social media page and talks about their material, development (basically some communication from the brand) and thus acceptable. What do we know about Scimitar (It does not even have a website)? A basic shop today also has a social media page. Scimatar does not even have that neither a website.

Tell me which brand do we know which does not have a social media page or website?

Rather go for a company like Via terra, Rynox, Cramster where the company has its wear abouts and it talks about its product development, material usage and people who have been using their products and some many out there vouching for their products.

All these brands have a social media page with considerable following. Scimitar does not even have a social media page.

Don't risk yourself on the roads with a unknown label.

I am 6 foot 3 tall with hip size of 44" with a belly. When I tried to buy a mesh riding jacket in Chennai at Velavan merchandise, I tried various brands and sizes. I was able to fit in to one brand's 5XL. Most of other sizes and other brands were tight at my hip level where my belly prevented the zippers to come close.

The 5XL size that I tried was okay, but the shoulder and elbow armours were bit out of position and did not cover its organ that it is intended to protect. I thought not to buy this jacket because of this reason.

All I want is a bit more at belly area. Does any manufacturer address this issue? Any other suggestions?

Air-GT Jacket (Customised Size) will cost you Rs.8500/-
Asphalt Jacket (Customised Size) will cost you Rs.9500/-

and the measurements they ask for are (in cms):


1 Around Chest
2 Waist
3 Bottom (Around Hips)
4 Shoulder to Shoulder
5 Shoulder to Wrist
6 Back Length
7 Wrist
8 Neck

So here comes the question which is the best vfm jacket?

As mentioned by Astrix i have checked Dsg Evo as well as Rynox Air GT..
I am inclined towards dsg evo because on paper it offers same features compared to rynox and it costs 500 cheaper as well.
I've seen that dsg evo is bit heavy(?) and people are saying that dsg is lowering their standards? any evo users can help me out here..

PS: i am going to order online and they don't have any size charts on their site so how should i choose the size?
PPS: Normally how long does the delivery take?

Hey Dixant ! I am glad you felt my argument made sense to you and chose to take it in a positive way.
With DSG EVO I am not sure if it is heavier than the Air GT. I think the weight will be more or less that same.
However in Air GT, you get a Dual Foam back protector (May be it is CE certified. Not sure). However, in DSG EVO the jacket does not come with a back protector, it just has a thin sheet of Foam (as thin as a cardboard may be).
Also DSG products do not come with any warranty, Rynox products (as told to me by their dealer when I bought mine) does come with a 6 months warranty (Also mentioned on their website).

I have and using the Cramster Tundra gloves. I have ridden in heavy rain. The gloves get wet but nit your hands, which means from outside it looks fully dipped in water but its dry inside. In winter it feels nice and warm, however there is a lack of ventilation which is obvious( not sure how that is gonna be in really long rides ). You feel uncomfortable in the begining , and its a matter of getting used to. I carry them for all my long rides as a secondary gloves to use it in rain. Personally i like them as this is the only water resistant gloves comes in that range from a known manufacturer ( that i am aware of). I suggest go to a cramster showroom and try it than buying online.

Can stretch budget to 3.5k . Need to order in quick time. IF you guys have idea of any such riding glove which offers best protection + is good for all weather condition including waterproofing that would my best buy.

The tundra one clearly mentions not for summer use and i would intend to have gloves for all so investing one time seems a better option.

I do not have a Rynox Air GT. However I have a Rynox Tornado Pro and I can say that the brand for sure is a good brand given their quality and after sales support.

I don't know in which thread to post this because it doesn't come under riding gear, but here goes:
Viaterra recently launched a new product called 'viaterra seaty' which is a small saddle bag cum pillion seat. When there is no luggage, it can be folded and compressed and acts as a cushion for the pillion. In its expanded form it has a capacity of 12 litres which should be enough for day rides or at the max a ride with 1 night stay if you pack light. It is very easy to tie it around the seat, can be done within 2 minutes. Will post a review once I use it for a few rides.

I don't think you can find one truly-all-weather gloves; they are either rain + winter, or summer/dry riding gloves. I have also talked about this here: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/universa...ml#post1187001

Here's what I am planning to do. Maybe it's a good choice for you too: I am going to get a pair of leather summer gloves to start with. I am planning to use latex gloves over the leather ones while riding in rains (which is about 30% of all my riding, as of now); while this may sound / look ridiculous, I have read that this is a pretty effective poor-man's solution. Meanwhile, I am going to save up and get a proper rain glove when I can afford it.

Here's the reason for my decision: I personally don't think getting two medium / moderate quality gloves is a good idea. I think it's better to get a high quality one to start with, and then upgrade / add to your gear when it's time / when you can afford it. There is always the argument that a little protection is better than no protection at all. But more often than not, this logic works counter-intuitively with respect to riding gear. For example, I once thought Pro-biker gloves were good enough for me; until I read somewhere that if the plastic knuckle-protectors break during a fall, they can actually cause more damage to your hand.
