Regarding waterproofing I had tried them for my leather bag but didn't work out on heavy rains and it was costly too. But that was years ago, may be things got cheaper/tech advanced these days. Good luck with that.
There is even a saying "
Thin leather looks good in the bar, but it won't save your butt from road rash when you go down."
Sorry if Im being negative. Finally it's upto you cuz you are gonna love nd live with it. 👍 So cheer up.Ride Safe!

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
yeah, In indian conditions only Mesh or Perforated Leather works. Perforated leather gives much better protection but little hotter than mesh.Originally posted by sman999 View PostBro trust me even the mesh jackets are not as cool as they seem to be. Leather is no way gonna be cool.
Leather works only in LEH and severe winter, no where else.
True story. so cover your butt in paddings or Hard shortsOriginally posted by sman999 View PostThere is even a saying "

Why ride fully covered in Riding gear on a hot Summer ? Because road rash from hot asphalt hurts more than sweat

if your budget is restricted then solace bravo or icon will be the good options as quality & features are
also good in both these gloves. zeus i always feels overpriced for no reason. no doubt about the quality of aspida
but again overpriced.

Summer Riding Boots?
Hi,
I am currently residing in Ahmedabad, and summers here are hot beyond imagination. Having recently bough a Jacket and a Helmet, my next gear investment looks to be riding boots.
Please describe and share your opinions/experiences on what are the best riding boots available in INDIA for summers?
Thanks !
P.S. Online buying is considerable.Being on two wheels is being liberated. The vastness one feels being under the open sky. The whole feeling. . . cant be described.
Ride safe, Ride long.

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Need suggestion to decide between knee guards and riding pants and buying options from USA.
guys, I checked the Indian store for riding pants, they start around 6K INR and good knee guards starts around 2.5-3K range.
My budget is 4-4.5K for riding pant and 2K for knee guard
.
I checked some closeout site and amazon.com to buy it from there as one of my colleague is currently on business visit in USA(austin, tx) and would return next week.
On Amazon good rated riding pants are priced $70 and knee guards around $40 including Alpinestarts's .
Please suggest me how and where to buy, gears will be used only for occasional touring and group rides and will be my first purchase. ( I have solace jacket, gloves and steel toe leather safety boot ankle height)
Can I buy here in India inside my budget? yes then please suggest store/brands.
or can I try my luck with USA products.
Few days left for USA purchase
. Appreciate any help and suggestion.

Re: Biking Gloves - need suggestion
Definitely, you will get a non-leather gloves for all seasons. I brought a Rev'it! Abbey Road Glove made from strong, durable fabric. It can weather all seasons and is great for palm protection during long routes. It is especially made for long rides and off- road touring.Originally posted by xcuseme View PostHi Guys,
Am looking for non-leather gloves(synthetic leather is fine) for all weather season. Any suggestion ?.
Thanks,
I suggest you few references from where you definitely get your choice.
