Been reading this thread for a while now since I'm planning on getting my brother and myself a good riding jacket for about 5-7k each. It is ideally for our Leh trip later this summer but thinking of buying it now so that we've gotten used to it come June.

I've gone through so many sites and honestly am more confused than when I started searching. Would need a jacket with good protection, with the possibility of upgrading the armour. And a jacket that I can use every day to work.

Here are some of the few I've narrowed down to, any information on these will be appreciated

    1. Rynox Tornado Pro

Seems to be the popular one around. Not too happy with the way it looks online.

    2. Tarmac One Riding Jacket

Can't make out if this is a product bikers like or not, found mixed reviews online.

    3. DSG Evo Two

Loved the look of it but found out that DSG quality is bad.

    4. Biking Brotherhood Spiti and Ladakh

Look like good jackets, just need information from people who've used it.

    5. LS2 4 Weather Jacket

One of the better looking ones around. Tried it on at the showroom and felt it was good. The issue is that I can't find any reviews (positive or negative) on this thread.

Any information regarding these jackets or other recommendations will be immensely appreciated.

    Thanks,
    JoashC
I have been using bb spiti, good all weather jacket, level 1 protectors..

Here's my initial impression of solace bravo riding gloves

After good amount of research I zeroed Solace bravo. For the budget this provided great protection and features (I'm not going to list). Checked out cramster trg2 as an option but I felt it was bulky so dropped the thought [emoji16]

Coming to my first ever impression of riding gloves on motorcycle.
After wearing I felt wow this is going to be great (usual feel when you try out something new that you wanted to for long). I hopped onto my gixxer, started ignition, shifted to 1st gear, throttle opened but bike didn't move (that mini heart attack!). I checked again everything is fine except my clutch, I couldn't let go of it [emoji23] courtesy the riding gloves as I'm never used wearing one. It felt weird and the wow factor just vanished [emoji14] . My mind voice "it's going to take hell of a time to get adjusted"(I hope it doesn't). Also it's not broke in yet so that takes partial blame. Somehow I managed to let go of clutch with the gloves on, there I go feeling weird riding my bike.

Things noted: throttle, clutch and front brake control changes when you first put on gloves. One need to be very careful while changing to gloves. I was not able to go beyond 50kmph in fear I couldn't control plus I couldn't completely dip the front brake.

Coming to actual product, it looks good gives you pro rider feel (to me atleast). My palms didn't sweat in 6km ride to my office at 3pm though it was painful at the end of ride. My finger tips were paining due to leather stitch end inside the gloves I blame it being new and not broke in.
Can't comment on real life protection and durability now for obvious reason.

Will update more as I put on more km on these. [emoji3]

      ~Peace

I like MT bt having second thoughts due to the racetrack accident on October 2016 where the mt axxis helmet broke into 2 pieces causing death to the rider.

HJC CL- 17 striker hands down; not cos I ve purchased it recently it is way better product than MT blade, the air vents are just amazing it comes with SNELL2015 and DOT approved. Only negative thing is the availability of the spares, I found a dealer who can help me with spares so no problem.
Overall its an amazing product for what it is priced!

                  Hi Guys

Would like to know if any of you are using riding boots for daily use and if so which one. I am looking for riding boots with proper protection for ankle, heel and toe (with toe sliders preferably) and I dont mean protection in the form of just simple padding. The closest I have come to these are boots from TCX which are quite expensive in India.

Is there any other brand which you guys could suggest which is ankle length and can be used daily even to office without compromising too much on protection.

Is it normal to get little rashes around fingers with new riding gloves? Or is it allergic reaction? I'm using solace bravo btw.

Well with my Solace RacePro gloves i didnt notice any rashes at all. But then i did try out Solace bravo too and felt that they fit my hand (especially my fingers ) a lot more snug...a thing i liked actually until the owner reminded me that the gloves should be comfortable too. Yours are leather too right so they should break in a little bit with time. That is unless the pain is unbearable and stops you from riding comfortably i wouldnt worry about it.

I guess since the leather is non perforated its the sweat that is causing issues...perhaps you could try one of those heat relief powders (nycil or something) on your hands before wearing the gloves till they break in.

Thanks for suggestion dude. Isnt Speed kind of the like the chinese knockoff of SIDI. ..? As far i remember checking out SIDI models most of them were very conspicuous. I was thinking of something along the lines of alpinestarts smx2 or TCX performance shoes fairly low profile in black and in uniform color (no highlights and stuff).

                            Hi there,
Try this. I Recently bought these Motocentric Raid boots from motorcyclesuperstore.com for US $39. Protection and comfort levels are decent for the price. Boots are not so bulky and can easily goes with your office formals.

Its always better to sweat than to bleed. Wear helmet.

Dude kindly go ahead and use the search functionality in the thread. If you still have specific doubts on particular gloves or comparison between two (if not done in the thread already) members here will help you out.

Thanks dude for the suggestion. I needed something available in India officially. Easier in case of warranty claims. Finally went and got the Biking Brotherhood short ankle length boot. Seems alright for my usage at first glance. I will post a first impressions review once i use it for a few days. OF course I can truly use once I see if I am able to wear it in office without drawing too many eyes.
