    Hi Kaushik,

Thank you for your reply. This certainly helps and I sincerely appreciate it!

    Thanks,

I am looking for riding pants. I already own riding jacket, gloves, etc. I am planning to complete my riding gear by adding a pair of pants in it.
I have gone through a lot of sites like
          cramster
          planetdsg
          spartanprogear
          zeusmotorcyclegear
          and other websites

I am not able to pick some decent pants within a budget. I am looking for a pant with CE approved knee and hip protection. My main usage is for touring, so it would be nice if it's an all weather pants.
          So Here are the questions.
          1. For protection is riding jeans worth buying as compared to riding pants?
          2. Can someone please suggest any riding pants and/or give reviews about the pants you are using?

          Thanks for the help.

of all the options available, Rynox Riding pants are pretty much the best out there. The features that they offer at the price when compared to other indian brands is really impressive.

They have 2 types of Pants
          1) Raid
          2) Advento

Both the Pants come with Knox Knee armours. These armours are not the ones which could be used on shoulders or elbows.. these are armours exclusively meant to be used on knee. Thus they provide better coverage area and provide protection from the knee all the way to the shin.

Since you need pants for Touring, you can purchase the Advento as they come with Knox Knee armours and Knox Hip amours that protect your pelvis. It comes with internal thermal liner and a rain liner which can be worn externally. You can adjust the positing of the Kneww armours without having to remove the pants.

          Hope this helps..

Agree ... I own Rynox Advento and it's worth the money when you compare with similarly priced pants out in the market. The quality and fit is really good. The have knee and hit protector which are Knox. Removable thermal liner is easy to insert and remove. Also a riding pant is always better than riding denim. If you plan to do touring, go for riding pants instead of denims and it's worth the money spend.

The cheapest one I'm aware of is the Scimitar Solus jacket that retails for 3,799/-
I'd suggest you save up and buy a better jacket that can serve you better in terms of protection and durability. There are many options from Solace, DSG, Cramster, Zeus etc. Regarding gloves, you have a lot of options from the above mentioned brands in your budget.

To top that, the Solus is absolutely flimsy when it comes to the liners and it does not come with a thermal liner. I tried it out and immediately dropped it out of my choicebooks. Maybe its good for a city ride but touring.. i would not risk it.

Looking for a knee guard that can be worn inside pants that doesn't reduce my ability to grip onto the tanks. Had a fox raptor before, but the screws on it poked my knees and it greatly affected my ability to grip onto the tanks. Then I got a riding pant, it allowed me to grip the tank very well but wearing them for each and every single ride is not practical. On a recent low speed T-bone, I got direct hit on my knees as I wasn't wearing the knee guard nor the pant. My left knee is swollen badly, I feel my injury could have been easily avoided if wore some knee protection. If there are any knee pads that can be worn inside pants which allows me to grip onto the tanks very well, I would be wearing it every time, even for short grocery shopping ride. Does anybody know of such knee pads?

You can have a look at the below knee guard from Spartan/Aspida, Its knox flexiform so its soft and should be pretty much comfortable inside our pant(given that the pant has enough room for it.)

I have felt it by hand while I have visited them for buying a jacket and not tried it personally, but had seen a review that it fits perfectly(for the reviewer) and did not obstruct his casual activities.

I've read about a user trying to make a DIY of sorts for this.

Yes, that DIY is done using Tynor Knee cap and sastec armor. You can search with these words to get the exact post.

I've found that thread, thanks to you guys. The SAS - TEC SC 01 / 02 knee guard is not on stock with outdoortravelgear.com but it is in solaceintl.in yet I'm skeptical of this site's reputation. So wondering whether should I go with Solaceintl.in or wait for outdoortravelgear to replenish their stocks.
