what will be suitable body armor rating for my riding jacket?

i own a pulsar 200 rs and i am thinking to buy a rider's jacket under 10K.
can you please suggest me the brands and body armor level to consider (i do not ride beyond 120 kmph) for maximum protection.

Hey guys, I am a long time lurker on this forum and enjoy reading the opinions and reviews posted here. I am expecting my RE Himalayan to be delivered in some time. So I thought before I get the bike I should focus on preparing a list of the gear I would need before I climb on the bike. Of course I will buy everything on the list once I get my hands on the beast since I know it is vital to get a feel of how the gear feels on you when you are riding. I have read a lot of posts on this thread and the list I have come up with has emerged after considerable research and reading. Since this is my first time buying gear (as this is my first bike) and my first post in the forum, please be gentle.

The total budget is 15k(+/- 1 k)

1. Jacket - Rynox Tornado Pro - Rs 7450

The mesh exterior and Knox armour were major selling points. My other options are DSG Phoenix and Aspida Helios

2. Gloves - Aspida Phaeton - Rs 2225

I know it has short cuffs but I thought for now it will do the job till I can upgrade to a better one. Another option here is the Rynox Rampage

3. Knee Guard - Aspida Perseus - Rs 2575

Again I have opted for the short term option. The long term of course is proper riding pants.

4. Helmet - Kranos Helmet - Rs 3750

The discussions here have led me to believe that the quality of Kranos is more or less equivalent to that of MT entry level helmets. However a point of concern for me here is an issue raised by many users who have complained of excessive wind noise while riding on highways. I also do not have any other options here.

The total amount for all the aforementioned gear comes to 16k which is exactly my upper limit. The final buy will be done only after looking at comfort and fitting. My primary purpose is city riding as well as trips on every weekend. I know a lot of you here have thousands and lakhs of miles under your belt and I would love your advice and opinion on this. Since this is an issue of safety it is very important that I get the best gear I can afford.

I am using Tornado Pro and I must say it is one of the best jackets in <10k range. Been using for more than six months. The overall build quality is nice. Ventilation is sufficient and you won't get fried in the summers. Winter liner is serves the purpose well. Used it on numerous early morning rides in the winter and never felt chilly. Fit is perfect for even for skinny guys like me. Armour stay at place and adjusters do their job well. Overall a nice product and you won't regret it buying.

As for helmet, I have MT Axiss. Wind noise is present in Axiss as well. Might be lower than Kranos. Both are good, well made helmets. Visor is clear with zero optical distortion. Wind drag is also minimal.
Just make sure the chin curtain/padding are locked perfectly in the shell on the outer edge. Chin curtain/padding starts to some off from side while removing the helmet. Might be an issue with my particular helmet, but just check while buying.

So I was dreaming about buying a Ninja for many years. Then I started saving money. I had 2 Karizmas and I had Spartan Helios Jacket, LS2 Helmet, Probiker Gloves and Raptor Kneeguards. Then I came to know about service and spare costs of the Ninja 300 through a friend. The Ninja dream faded away (for now, one day I will get one) and I bought a Duke 390 (from another Xbhpian), sent the Probiker Gloves and Raptor kneeguards to retirement and bought Proteus Riding pants, Solace Passion Gloves, Solace Threshold Boots and MT Blade helmet.
Sad in a way that my Ninja dream is still a dream. Happy that I could get myself a set of basic riding gear as I opted for the KTM.

I use a Kranos and I feel the quality is pretty good and is a lighter helmet. The wind noise is in excess ... but what you can do is use the Chin visor that comes with the high-end MT helmets. That helps ... or see if anyone you have coming from stateside can procure a Windjammer 2 for you.

I resorted to 3M Earplugs and they are on Amazon for 300 for pack of 5. They greatly reduce noise except for sharper wind howl while still allowing me to hear the world.

Thanks man. I have zeroed in on the jacket after reading multiple reviews and your review has helped me make my mind. Of course I will check the fit.

Last week went ahead and bought Alpinestar T-GP R Air jacket. Quality is fantastic and it costed 20K at Orion motors, Koramangala, Bangalore.

The Chin curtain fits between the outer shell and padding and will come off most of the time I take off my helmet. But it is not a deal breaker.

I have to warn you about few issues with it. It being a neoprene sleeve is not really that flexible for all head sizes. Its only good until a 57-59 head size. Also it sticks to your helmet via a double sided tape ... so basically only a few shots at getting it right. It also depends a lot on the jacket you are wearing as well.

It has Level-1 CE Approved Knox Flexiform armour and not CE Certified armor as of what I have read. I also own the same jacket.
