Full gauntlet will be safer.since you want one for touring ease of removal can be traded for safety.via terra grid can be considered since it has palm sliders and has one year warranty too.feeels comfortable and passes enough air unlike gloves like cramster trg 2.but priced at 4500 and above
Trg2 also was a nice glove and it's the cheapest in FG i guess

Got Rynox Air GT 3 Grey/Red 2XL fits me perfectly. Safetech CE Level 2 all around except chest. Tried Solace Rival too, but the wrist zip was low quality and didn't like colour combination. ₹6350 at Motogear, Chennai

SMK Stellar Dyanamo with Pinlock 30 fits perfectly without any pressure points in L size - ₹3800 at Southern Helmet Centre, Chennai

Orazo Picus Riding Boots size 9 - ₹3,799at Motogear, Chennai

Help me to choose the best gloves for touring.

Stuck between short cuff gloves and full gauntlet gloves. Which is best for touring?

My budget is 3k. Please suggest some best gloves in the market.

Hi, if touring on raining and colder regions then it's better to go with full gauntlet gloves with waterproof capabilities. If touring/commuting in hotter and humid areas then semi-gauntlet with mesh or perforations on the finger points of the gloves gives nice airflow to escape the heat. It's best, if you two pairs separately for both conditions.

Yes bro, definitely. I took Rynox Air GT3 after weighing all other options. I thought Safetech armours will be heavy but their CE level 2 ones are light and never felt them intruding my riding these past few days. Fits really good too. Tomorrow doing a 520kms ride, shal post my proper impressions soon.

SMK Stellar helmet has been fabulous so far. Really low wind noise at 100kph with the vents closed. No fogging at all in my morning commutes and traffic snarls due to Pinlock 30. Though it weighs the same as my almost 3 year old Studds Shifter, it feels so lighter and fits snug. It has almost the same plush interiors as my friend's HJC lid too. Kudos to SMK for building a great quality lid! Though my next helmet upgrade will be a fibreglass one from MT for sure.

Me trying the Storm EVO but settled for Air GT for now



The money I saved from getting Storm Evo 3(mostly my next jacket) I got Orazo Picus Riding boots. Good quality boots, though I felt it could've been Rs500 lesser.

I checked with the rynox customer support for Tornado Pro 3 jacket. They said it Will be back in next 50 working days. (almost 2 months).it's worth to wait or can I go for TBG KNIGHT jacket?

If anyone has a experience in tbg knight please let me know it Will be more helpful.

I have always recommended and leaned towards SMK helmets for what they had to offer. Apart from sizing discrepancies on different shells, the quality, build, fit and finish is excellent when compared to the price. SMK are great VFM than MT and a couple of other helmet brands out there.

TBG I personally think are overpriced and overhyped. The same jacket what they are retailing can be purchased at 7 to 8k max, with an even better chassis, and personally don't recommend TBG, for one, their gloves are garbage. BBG on the other hand are good, but again aren't that great when it comes to quality, fit and finish. Rynox, Viaterra, Solace, SPG and SPR. I'd personally recommend you to check this out.

Hi bro,

For a 6k budget Rynox air gt v3 is a good bet. I didn't own one, I researched a lot about jackets under 10k. Surprisingly rynox provides level 2 armour jackets for 6.3k budget. Go with the reputed brands and perfect fit.

I have no idea about the pants.

Rynox and Solace are the two brands you should be looking for.

Both provide branded well known protectors and are reliable.

My recommendations for jackets - Solace Rival / Rynox Air GT3

For pants - increase budget to 7k, get Rynox Storm or Solace Tourjet

Edit - Adding tips

1. Look at material denier, in your budget range, atleast 600 Denier polyester is fine.

2. Look at protectors, since both of them supply CE level 2 protectors, you are covered on that part, no worries. (jacket)

3. Look at protector branding - go with reliable ones like Safetech / Powertector / Sastec / Knox / D3o. Both AIR GT3 and Rival L2 get protectors from Safetech.

4. Try out the jackets at a store for sizing help. Both these brands run exact same sizing guide so if you can try one, you can buy another online too, no worries.

5. Buy the one you like, ride safe.

Personally I have been using Solace Furious since 3 years, Rynox Air GT3 is a fresh addition to gears and for the pants I have been using Solace Coolpro. All of the gear has been super good for me. Just about choices.

Royal Enfield Touring Boots Mid Rise Black

Today, I received the Royal Enfield Touring Boots Mid Rise Black from amazon.in, costing ₹ 6,500. This is my first pair of lace-less, zip/velcro closure type riding boots, which I wanted to buy since a long time. They are very comfortable to wear and light-weight. Entry into and exit from the boots are very easy and quick. I went for a big round on my son's Interceptor 650 wearing the new boots and found it easy for shifting the gears. So, they should be much more easier on my Thunderbird 500 too with toe-and-heel-pushing gear lever. I found them comfortable with the semi-forward position of Interceptor 650. So, upright position in my Thunderbird 500 should be more comfortable.

Great choice. I'd recommend RE gears, especially boots are gloves they are for the most part excellently made. Case in point, my Olive Green gloves are from RE and been serving me well over two years and not a single loose thread or nicks, taken one mild spill and one major spill on the palm side and still going super strong. The gloves were Made in Vietnam and had a Korean company's brand logo. Nonetheless to whom RE outsources, they do have their quality checked. Shame, their 350/500 series can use some better QC.

Can someone suggest me a good touring helmet in the range of 5 to 10k. I currently use a SMK twister and it served me well for the past 3 years, but the wind noise is too much over 80 kmph. My usual crusing speed are in the range of 100 to 120 kmph. Thanks in advance.
