Guys, what are your thoughts on 1-piece leathers for touring? Alternatively, 2-piece leathers that can be doubled up for use on a track? Just getting an opinion.

Could you also suggest some good brands and makes for the same?

Personally I would not recommend leather as it is not suited for hot weather.
Plus while touring on highways, the riding gear takes a lot of abuse in terms dust and grime. Cleaning and maintaining leather gear is much more challenging.

I wouldn't say it is not doable, but maybe not the most suited option.

Fair enough. Would you (or anyone else) happen to know of riding pants which can be tucked into racing or road boots? Say, boots like the A-Star SMX?

In my experience or from my memory most riding pants that I have seen are made slightly loose for comfort and hence would go over the riding boot rather than under. I don't know from the top of my head any riding pants that go under. I have a Dainese, which is a european cut and generally tighter fit, but even that feels more comfortable over the boots. When you try to tuck it in, there is too much material to be folded around lower legs and makes boots uncomfortable.

          This is just my experience.

My Dainese racing suit went over the boot. It was a torque out model. But it didn’t hang loosely - there was Velcro on the pant and the boot to make them stick together snugly. I prefer that kind of a fit for any boot. That’s the reason I ask.

My Dainese riding pants has a zipper at the bottom. Once you zip it, it fits tightly over the boot.

Just checked them out and it looks like they might be exactly the kind I’m looking for. Thanks! Where’d you get them?

Ahh!! Glad to know. I got them from the US. Was on a business trip and ordered them from Revzilla.
You might want to check Dainese Bangalore store. They might have these.

                        Hi All,

Hope you all are doing alright. I had a quick question regarding the SOL Helmets India, I am not able to reach out to SOL India Official through any means. Has the support for SOL Helmets suspended here? Please let me know if anyone has any connections to share. I am looking for some spares for my SOL Helmet that I purchased sometime back. Thanks.

                            Hi All,

I am planning to upgrade from my 5 Year old SOL helmet, I have rounded the following below based on my budget.

                            1. MT BLADE 2
                            2. MT Rapide
                            3. Vemar Zephir

Can someone please help me in finalizing out of these 3 I am also open to options in this range till 15k tops. Including spare visor as well.

Purpose: Touring and Short distance rides. Not for daily commutes.

I am leaning towards Vemar especially for their broad view port. Thanks in advance.

If you have that budget, please look at HJC or ScorpionEXO. The build quality and what you get for the price will still stun you.
                              Goodluck.

Hey petroheads, this is my first post here so be gentle and also correct me where I’m wrong.

Just a few details about me:

I own a Bullet UCE 500 in Delhi. Though I use it only for long rides and not for short daily commutes. I wanted to buy a riding jacket and upgrade my riding gloves to full gauntlet leather gloves. I was happily looking at Rynox Stealth Evo 3 as the best option and Aspida Ares Full gauntlet gloves the total being around ₹15-16 k.

But now I’ve seen the Rynox Air GT 3 which also has level 2 protectors and also is half the price. Now I’m confused if I am being extravagant as I’m a student and mostly am studying for my Civil services exam and can go for trips at max twice a year. Although the budget is not a constraint but as they say a penny saved is a penny earned.

Should I invest in big daddy touring jacket or adjust for the city jacket with same protectors?
                                Godspeed.
                                -A.J.
