But if you are talking about Puma boots like the Desmo, Roadster, 1000's and the Flat V2, then those are serious riding boots. But they are not available in india.

Are you talking about the ones available in the Puma stores in India? The designs of those shoes are just 'inspired' by performance boots and do have hard core functional benefits. They are basically fancy looking sneakers with some Ducati branding thrown in.Originally posted by Mindgrinder View Post

Use Nike/Reebok/Adidas or any other basketball shoes-they give good ankle support&also the material is tough enough to take the toe-shifter abuse. Mine are doing great even after some 5+years.Originally posted by Mindgrinder View Posthmmm thnx so you mean those one's have no traction, may be i should go for orazo or ask some friend to ship me Flat v2, can somebody post ownership pic of orazo boots?

Second that - when it comes to buying sports shoes for general purpose use, stick to either basketball, tennis or outdoor shoes. They would outlast other running shoes/fashion sneakers by a huge margin. From personal experience, I can vouch that basketball shoes are the best bet when it comes to value for money, be it materials, design and durability.
And if you are keen to buy a flashy running shoe or a fashion sneaker but don't want a hole in the front area, try to get a shiftguard from overseas. Works like a charm, I use them all the time with my expensive mesh sneakers.
I haven't worn Orazo shoes, but looking at the pictures, the finish and materials don't seem so good. Looks like it is made of coated split suede and I can see some wrinkles in the front. Better to spend some more money and get a pair of leather astars from overseas. Should set you back by Rs. 6-7 or so.Last edited by bluevolt; 11-02-2009, 10:09 PM.

Hi All,
I am planning to get myself a set of Elbow protectors, and Knee guards this weekend. Can someone let me know where I can get these in Bangalore?
I am looking at AXO as of now, but am unsure where I can get them, and how much they would cost.
I've heard we get the firefox kit at some plaze on JC road, but am not inclined towards these, since IMHO they are meant for bicycle riders.
Anyone here owns the Cramster Bionic Knee guards? how good are they?
Appreciate your replies, Cheers!

Hi Guys,
Just bought a set of probiker gloves last sunday @ 700 from Chopra New delhi.
Quality is good, and XL size fits my hand comfortably
Now my question is that, in how many days I will be comfortable with them, I am using them from last 2 days, but still have sort of alien feeling after wearing them, My hand movements are restrickted, nNwadays I am not blowing horn as I used to do, only pressing indicators for turns not for lane changes.
I have heard that there is somthing called gloves runin period
, chan someone throw more light on this.
Also I am planning to buy a good Biking Jacket, my budget is arounf 3K
Can I gae one in this budget, it yes then which brands ???No Matter Whether Guys buy 220cc Pulsars or 350cc Royal Enfields,
It is used only to follow a 80cc Scooty Pep...

Usually it depends on how ofter you ride....
It will vanish away for some 1month of time - do not try to remove your Gloves and ride - even a week of riding without gloves will makes you feel Uncomfortable with Gloves......
Doesnt matter how long you ride - ride them with gloves
Yes at beginning it will be tough to Honk and use Indicator Switches - but after usage for some time - you will not feel anything bad...

@thechamp: A few days, and you should be just fine. I remember when I started to use my full gauntlets, I used to feel "strange", so to speak. But, eventually in a few days, this "strange" feeling just vanished for good.
Now, I just CANNOT ride without those gauntlets.
As for riding jackets, at Rs.3k odd, I am not sure what is available in the market. However, the next best option ,if you can increase your budget is the DSG Falcon, which is priced at Rs.4,500/-. However, I have no idea about the quality and the durability of this. However, do check THIS link to see how the jacket actually looks.
P.S: I am using a Crasmter Pulse since the last few months, and it is tremendously comfortable, has GOOD, solid protection all around and is priced at Rs.5,200/- odd. Good value for money, and even better for the North-India winters!
:)
