  • Hi guyz,
    I had a query.
I am planning to buy a jacket and knee pads and also gloves.
What do you think about the R15 jacket by yamaha?
    It costs about Rs.5500/-
How is it in terms of protection, quality and how long does it last?
Also what gloves and knee pads do you suggest?
Im not willing to spend more than 5K for kneepads and gloves.
    Please help me out.
    Thanks

Go for DSG Revive gloves. I bought them for 1900 bucks and its worth every penny. Used it every single time I took my Ninja for a spin and even after 2500kms it is as good as new. No stitches coming off, no tear etc. Full leather with protection for fingers also and has air intakes on the fingers area. Highly recommended.

P.S. Only grouse is that the velcro strips need to be a bit more stronger and probably a better locking mechanism as it is too simple. But it's not a big deal at all. I'm completely satisfied till date.

      Thanks DSG.

Dude, what's with the capitalization? I cant understand what you need. If i got it right, you want info on the protection available for riders and this is the right thread for it. Read this thread as it will answer most of your questions if not all. Then you can post specific questions if you still need advice or help.

Bro i have one query, does the inner liner of the glove gives off color to the finger and hands? i have been using TRG from cramster and have experienced on numerous occasions that the glove gives off black color to the hand and fingers.now iam looking for a replacement .

I rode in hard pouring rain once and thats when my fingers were slightly black. Does not run a lot of color and also was not very visible on my skin even though I am fair.

But in dry conditions even when you sweat, absolutely no running of color from the gloves.

Hope I have answered your question.

                    • Looking for a little help in riding gears where I have no knowledge at all. So pls help me with simple answers.

My requirements on gears are for everyday riding as well as for touring. I've Studds Helmet & Cramster gloves & using a wind cheater & I'm looking to replace the wind cheater with good armoured wear. Also they shouldn't make me sweat like pig on Chennai's heat. Though not mandatory, if it protects me from rains, I'll be happy. In short, I'm looking for Jacket+armour(armour = front & back + elbow & shoulder protectors)

Based on my requirements above, I've shortlisted...
                      1. Fox Racing Titan Sport Jacket Motorcycle Motocross Roost Deflector Body Armor - Men's 2010
                      2. DSG Nero Jacket - Rs5,300.00

                      My questions are...
                      1. Will I get the complete set (what I see) with Fox or is it only the armour or the jacket?
                      2. Looking at DSG mesh jacket, I do not see any armours or are the armours fitted within the jacket?
                      3. Which one is a good buy provided I get protected & better air flow with priority on protection?
                      4. What is this inner lining stuff? I see that being discussed in several posts.

Last but not the least, are there any more options (Cramster???) for me other than the above? I do not want anything more than 5-6K range. If I'm able to get all in one (elbow, shoulder, back armour & front armour) in one go, that's the one I'm looking at & I assume Fox has it (yes I'm little biased towards this one)

Ok. Thanks for the explanation. So I'll look for one that has this inner line. I guess it should shoot up little more on cost.

oh yes, its always better to have riding jacket with inner lining, it serves dual purpose. lining are also of 2 types, one is of polyfil and other of fur...

                            • @ Aargee - I guess all the DSG and Cramster jackets come with an inner lining. The jackets have a zip on the inside so you can add the lining when you need. I only add the lining if its raining or if its really really cold. I would recommend the DSG Nero for you, it a nice somber design and not flashy at all. Ventilation is also quite good if you open up all the zips and ride. The armour is also pretty strong, Ive had a couple of minor spills while wearing my Nero and have come out with a scratch.

Edit : Im looking at replacing my Cramster MX3 gloves. Im leaning towards the Cramster TRG2. Wanted user feedback on the DSG Revive (Rs 2000) & the DSG Nitro (Rs 2750) (is this a new model ?). Will be using them on a daily basis.

Yes, Thanks. I don't like flashy stuffs. Simple is good; I'm glad to hear that it has armour & lining which suits my requirement. So I'll go get one next month unless someone raises some negative (I'm aware of the narrow zip at the bottom, which I'm OK)

So this one has armour inside is it? Good.

Also its better to order one from India rather than asking someone to bring or getting it shipped from US.

PS - Neil, still the Fox looks cool isn't it? I also read in this thread that the plastics aren't that good on Fox. But I saw Sunny sir wearing one & hence the thought of Fox chipped in.
