In an accident last year, I had my right arm fractured. So, I was looking at some serious protection to save myself on the road.

But I never purchased anything related to gears, except 4-5 helmets. So, please suggest me what do I purchase...

      1) CE Armor Jacket: I want a jacket with the following purchase expectation:

Protection: I want it to be extremely durable and protective. Protection from bruises is ok, but it should avoid fractures and serious injuries..

Please tell me one which includes the shoulder and elbow armors, and also if they are removable or not.

Breath-ability: Can be average. My main priority is injury protection.

Color: Any acceptable color. Any brand (A*, DSG) provided its good quality.

Budget: Under 6000 INR (Negotiable to some extent)

Life: It should last minimum 2 years. Any Warranty/ Guarantee appreciated.

Usage: General Road usage upto maybe 150 kmph maximum. No racing.

      2) Trousers/ Jeans:

Should be durable enough to protect from bruises/ scratches. Protection is a priority.

Should be wearable everyday, and look like normal casual jeans. Wanted only for general road usage. Any color. Budget around 3-4000.

I don't know if DSG provides any such jeans/ trousers, but still...

      3) Gloves:

Protection is a priority, but they shouldn't be too funky looking or heavy. Budget around 1000.

@ PlanetDSG.com: Sir, you can also suggest me which products would suit my needs? And also, the payment options for outstation customers. I live in Ajmer, Rajasthan.
      1. Ajmer will be warm for most of the year. Opt for a ventilated mesh jacket like Maze.
Life of the product will be entirely dependent on the type of usage you put the product through.
All Astars and DSG jackets have shoulder and elbow protectors which are removable however it's not advisable to use the product without them..

      2. We will launch riding pants under DSG in 2-3 months. Will notify you at launch so you can check them out if you haven't made your purchase till then.

      3. If you are looking for protection in gloves, you'll have to double your budget to Revive.

      4. We have a multitude of payment options available including via credit/debit cards, netbanking, itz cash cards, cheque, dd & even cash payments. Most options can be exercised directly on our website.

                          • Hi Guys,

I wish to purchase a jacket please suggest a good one. The requirements are as follows:

Should have rain resistance (removable preferably)
Should have paddings, goes without saying huh! (back, elbow & shoulders)
Should be suitable to use in summers ( i live in southern part of country and summers can be as grueling as rainy season in the state of Kerala)
                            Budget - Max 6K

Have eyes on - Cramster Breezer and DSG (Dont know which one would be most suitable, Nero/Phoenix/Maze)

Please suggest which would be the best choice or suggest some other product (Getting from abroad is not an option, as i definitely want to try it on before I buy, from Cochin/Bangalore)

                            • Got my riding gear today. Sharing some of the pics.
                              Gear:
                              Jacket: Fieldsheer Corsair
                              Gloves: Fieldsheer Fury
                              Knee Guards- Shift enforcer
Rainsuit- Teknic jetstream 2 pc rainsuit

                              Initial review:
                              Jacket-
Pros:The jacket looks very sturdy. The material is very thick (1000D). They claim to provide 90% abrasion resistance compared to leather.
This jacket comes with a CE approved back protector instead of the usual foam pad.
The jacket breathes really well. But its still hot when you stop.
I like the clean look of the jacket. Its lookd like your normal jacket so you can wear it anywhere.
The liner (shown in the pics) is really good quality and can be used as a separate wind cheater.
The jacket fabric is stretchable which makes it easier to ride.
The fit is very snug and true to FS size chart.(This is a pro if you like snug fit.)
                              Cons:
The jacket is really heavy. It easily weighs more than 3kgs w/o the liner. The back armour really adds to the weight along with the heavy fabric.

                              Gloves:
Pro - the construction, stitching and quality looks top notch. Again sizing true to chart.
Con- the glove is very tight. Couldnt get my hand into it initially. But it slowly broke in. I am sure it will get more comfortable after regular use.

                              Knee guards-
Pro- Is very light and confortable
Con- Its huge and I cant wear it under the jeans.

                              Rainsuit-
Havnt tested it yet. But the rainsuit is very heavy. Though the material looks very good and should provide good protection against rain.

Cost- Bought al the gear from motorcycle superstore and my friend brought it back to india. Shipping was free inside US.
                              Shift Racing - Enforcer Knee/Shin Guards $12.95
                              Fieldsheer - Fury Gloves $27.99
                              Teknic - Jet Stream 2pc Rainsuit $35.99
                              Fieldsheer - Corsair Jacket $109.99
                              Total: $186.92

Total cost after conversion charges- 8825.53

Now waiting for my sparx s-07 white lightning to arrive.
Sorry for the bad pics. WIll upload better quality pics later.

Please suggest which would be the best choice or suggest some other product (Getting from abroad is not an option, as i definitely want to try it on before I buy, from Cochin/Bangalore)
I'm using the DSG Nero for 6 months now, & am happy with it.
However I don't think it would be suitable for the kind of summer you are talking about. It does have air-vents but they won't be as good as a MEsh jacket.
The DSG Mesh is suitable for summers, but comes without a rain liner!

So it seems like the Cramster Breezer is the answer to your requirement. It is a mesh jacket, & come with a removable water-proof liner. The new model looks very appealing too.

Among other brands available in India within your budget, you can look at the Scyoco jackets. We have some happy Scyoco jacket owners here.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.
