  • Received my Rjays Octane Camo jacket today, though currently the temperature is high as well as humidity, I decided to give it a go, fit is fairly good, as I am between sizes L and XL, I went for the XL, L size may have been too tight, Xl fit is good for me, a couple for places it's a little loose, but acceptable, I can always have a couple more adjusters made up.

Quality is excellent, lots of protection and the armour is superb, the elbow armour goes right to the forearm where a full gauntlet would take over, the shoulder armour protects the deltoids and extra padding on top protects the colller bone, back protector is huge, plus there is lots of extra padding around it on the outer part, I removed the waterproof liner until the monsoon. The mesh does a good job of ventilation, but as with all jackets you need to keep moving, plus with the jacket being predominantly black, it absorbs heat as expected.

Here are my ratings out of ten.

Quality 9/10 initial impression, no issues with the stitching or zippers etc. Very nicely built.
Fit 8/10 Being between sizes a perfect fit will be difficult, plus not being able to try it on before purchase means possibly the size down would have been better
Protection 8.5/10 This has all the good stuff in the right places and more, the only thing is being a mesh safety is compromised, I can't wear regular textile jackets in this climate and leather would make me melt.
Style 10/10 whilst it's not loud, it turns heads, but is still subtle and looks good.
Comfort 10/10 it's a comfy jacket, no complaints here, nothing poking or itching etc.

That gives an overall of 91% obviously I haven't had it long enough to give a rating for durability, these are just my fist impressions, I had rode for almost 2 hours, in city traffic and on the highway.

I also got some AXO knee and elbow guards, they are pretty descent for the money and offer good coverage for the knee and shin, the elbow guards can be used by pillions I guess.

All in all a great purchase and great value for money.

Will post a long term review after some time has past, atleast 6 months.

    Pics will follow tomorrow.......

    Cheers,

    Stefan
Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

For those who cannot wait for six months . Been using the same jacket for more than a year now. Condition still as new. Agreed with rest of the comments. Though I removed the back protector to make air flow better. Had to compromise on safety for comfort somewhere . Anyway, airflow much better this way .

Disagree. Compared to which store? STG offers similar rates and Ridersdiscount is a flat $25. ebay also works out to be cheaper. If anything, these fellows always forget to stick the invoice on the shipment as a result of which you need to go to customs personally to show the bill/invoice.

The only thing I like about them is their closeouts
            Some amazing deals!

              • I'm contemplating on getting myself some track gloves, these are the options :

                1. Good ol' cramster TRG2, nothing bad about them, costs 2300bucks.
                2. AXO KK4-R, 65$+10$ shipping
                3.
                Teknic Lightning, 99$+9$ shipping

I love the teknic gloves, I ride a Limited edition r15 which is white and red and these will look awesome on it,but then they'll cost me around 5k inr, which by any standards is a bit costly.

The TRG2 are just common and that's why I was looking at my other options.

The AXO KK4-R look good as well + they have that carbon fiber knuckle protector thingy which only high end gloves have, so...

                Links to the Gloves:
                AXO KK4-R
                Teknic Lightning
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

I've used the car wash - pretty good but IMHO Turtle, Eagle One or Armorall products are better. Much more expensive though, so for the money, it's fine I guess.

If you use the leather products and are happy, give us a shout!

I use the car wash and the silicon glaze on my Ninja and Corolla and I am very satisfies with the product. I am yet to come across a polish that is so very easy to apply and gives such a good shine. Clearly amongst the best I have seen.
The wash will ensure that the polish remains longer and does not damage the coat.

I use the ArmorAll wash n wax (shampoo with Carnauba wax) and its superb. No need to wax polish the bike after giving it a shower with this shampoo. Highly recommended. Cost is very reasonable too. I bought the 500ml bottle for 350 bucks.

I use Turtle Wax Super Hard Shell wax polish on my bike but only once in a month or two. There is no need for it but i prefer to maintain the protective coat on the paint. Cost - Around INR 250/-

For leather upkeep, i use the EagleOne leather conditioner. Or you can also use Sonax Leather Conditioner wipes (these are like wet wipes). Both are equally good. EagleOne is available at most car accessory shops. I have used the EagleOne (its a spray bottle) on the ninja seat but it makes the seat very slippery.

@Malliah - Try Turtle Wax or better still go for Meguiars (the best so far).
