    i ride a p220f.

    as of now i have

a pair of chindi knighthood gloves (250 Rs- bought from A.M helmets)
a thick riding jacket thats too small for me (got as gift 2 years back)
a helmet that came with the bike (the shitty blue and black kimi helmet bajaj gives with the bikes)

i plan to buy a vega boolean tattoo skull graphic this week itself.

i need advice on what i can manage to get in a jacket (under 2000 preferable, stretchable to 3000Rs)

    and gloves under 1000Rs.

i know i cant afford to be brand conscious at all with this price range.

i am sorry these are not the kind of suggestions u people are used to giving, but please try to understand that unlike most people here,i do not earn.

    thanks
In that budget, you can opt for Scoyco JK-17 jacket which cost around Rs.3800/-.Many people here are using it & happy with it.You can buy this jacket at A.H. Helmets. Here is a review of the jacket..

ok buddy, good to hear youngsters like u are opting for riding gear ..
      Here is the suggestion**
1.helmet i am not aware of vega brand but .. by the current trend ..u can get cross or LS2 for 2.5k to 3k price range [don;t compromise here] these both helmets are tested and trusted by many .. so u can bet on it.

      2. riding jacket for less than 3k is very difficult to get .. if ur range is 5k then u can get good multiple options .. for less than 2k .. here is the solution --> buy a good body armour which can cost u around 2-2.5k and buy good thick jacket for 600+Rs .. actually speaking complete body armour is much better than riding jacket especially in rainy season and long drives

      3. Hand Glouse .. i used to have DSG mesh type with protection which used to cost around 900Rs but comfort and if used daily its life is almost 6 months .. this time i got pro-biker with protection .. for around 500/- and i am satisfied ... giv a try for it

      4. shoes .. get any woodland or any shoes which can give good protection

      5. Get the elbow and knee guard if u can be able to buy jacket otherwise just the knee guard which can cost around 500/- to 2000/-

so totally if calculated with min money:
      1. 3000/- jacket***
      2. 500/- H.glouse
      3. 2000/- shoes
      4. 500/- knee guard
      5. 2500/- Helmet

... Happy riding .. ur lucky to get P220 this early ..be responsible

        I agree with the above.
You can get a scoyco JK17 riding jacket for <4000 bucks. Its a good riding jacket and has good reviews. Contact this guy for the jacket. Or else go with what nagoo had suggested.

For gloves try cramster MX3, though they are not full gauntlet but a good deal in 1400.

A riding jacket will cot you approx 5500/- from Dsg, also check out out cramster jackets.

Dont go for cheap jackets as they wont give you safety, i would recommend you to buy axo knee guards and elbow guards set from pro biker in 1000/- as my friend recently bought it which you can wear over your thick denim jacket or inside it if your jacket is a bit loose.
            thanks for your reply shrinathrao

regarding the helmet,i am considering the ls2 cross as opposed to the vega boolean, i favored the boolean since it is splittable which would make city riding in the mumbai summers a little better and also its costing 1800Rs as opposed to the ls2 2500Rs.

for gloves, 1400Rs becomes too expensive for me.
and i like my gloves to be full since i go to lonavala very often ( extremely cold and windy winter nights )

Collecting 5500 Rs. for the dsg is a big big task for me since i plan to collect it out of my pocket money, but i agree that id rather postpone a trip rather than go for a duplicate jacket .

i really loved the scoyco jk17 jacket review.
looks like i have to stretch my budget over the jacket, but one read across the Accidents and Injuries stories will remind me why i am opting for this
good protection at a reasonable price.will probably go for this one.

scoyco and probiker gloves eh. will stop by A.H , A.A , A.M helmets this week to check them out.

            Thanks

            thanks for replying nagoo,

i m considering the ls2 and cross helmets. but i was thinking a splittable helmet might be more comfy during summers.

i think i will opt for the scoyco jk17 as recommended by Drifty and madhav krishna since it costs Rs700 more aprox than the body armor + jacket combo and it will be less of a hassle to carry around.

will surely check out probiker gloves cause finally something is in my budget .

            Thanks

P.S As for me opting for gear, its not age, but value for life and respect for the road that matter, right ?

Pulsar 220 . yea ,i spent a year convincing my dad to get me a bike. i am lucky he saw that i have a genuine passion for biking and it was not just a craze to show off to friends.

Regarding Helmets, better go for the full faced ones, there are new models of Cross which are good looking & descent. The price range is very well under 2k.

As for gloves,Scoyco gloves have better build quality than the pro biker ones.MC 09,MC 10 are gloves suitable for everyday street riding.Currently,I am using MC-10 gloves and found them pretty comfortable.

AFAIK,2-3 members are planning to buy this Scoyco JK-17 jacket in a few days.So if you guys go there in a group, you can easily bargain with him,I guess.

Here are the pics of MC-10 gloves...

P.S.-I am glad you liked my nick.

@ ka600: I own a Vega Boolean White. Firstly, the price is not 1800. Rs. 1700 is the MRP, and you can get it for 1450 at the right places. ok? For the graphics, pay 250 extra.
Secondly, Boolean seems Plasticy & creaking on the outside. Has good protection shell though, but can't say so about moveable chin area. It's slightly better than Studds/ Ozone, but that's it I think.
Get the LS2 if you want serious long term protection. Boolean is still good enough for a little hard riding in 2 digit speeds, or if you leave your helmet at public places often.

I don't remember much convertible helmets in the higher end. Sparx, LS2, AGV, etc. all mostly come in non-convertibles. They have Open Face, but Open Face is not recommended. For other riding gear, I can't suggest much.
Remember, a Vega Boolean is better than Open Face from Sparx/ LS2, etc.
