You also have AH helmets at andheri. As far as I know the difference between bionic and normal knee guards is that bionic ones have hinges used to bend and can bend below the knee part more easily.

      Buddy,

The difference is pretty simple -

'Bionic' armor refers to articulation - i.e. the different parts of the armor are hinged to offer better movement and also support to the limb they are supposed to protect. Because they are hinged, they normally have a plastic or in advanced cases a carbon fibre skeleton which is padded for comfort and impact force absorption/distribution. An example would be the Cramster Bionics or the Alpinestars Bionics.

Dense foam is the cheapest type of armor available and will normally have a plastic component onto which is attached the straps for fitting to the limbs. The example would be the basic Fox armors.

The real issue to be concerned about is that most of the armors available in the market are fake, especially the Fox and AXO brands, unless you buy from an authorised distributor. The original gear will set you back by a few thousand bucks easy.

If your budget is around 1500 bucks, then I would recommend you to increase it a bit and go for the DSG Primal gloves...I have been using it since couple of months...and trust me its really good..both in comfort and protection.
Otherwise you have some good options in that range too....

Regarding the tank pads..I'm sorry buddy, I don't have much of an idea...

im from pune.know about planetDSG & motoverse.
Is RJAYS as good as Alpinestars?RJays Jetsream 2 Jacket & Swift Jacket seem more affordable than some of the Alpinestars jackets.

            cheers.
its good that u r aware abt the importance of riding gear.

abt the quality, can not comment on Alpinestar as i have never used any product of A-Star. but alpinestar are one of the best riding gear available for sure.

and about RJays, yes their jackets are damn good ones. i m using the octane for around six months now. its amazing to wear in hot weather, which we get most times of the year. and its rain liner is not bad too. but i m yet to test it any heavy or very heavy rain. i have also crash tested it once . came out without any injuries on my upper body. but my knees & hips were bruised. coz those were not protected by any gear. so, imo, RJays Octane is the best jacket at its price.

also a few days back, purchased RJsys all weather riding pant. it is also a very good quality product. nicely vented with good quality armor for knees.

also using RJays gloves, Jetstream2. sadly they are not waterproof, but still amazing grip and fit and ventilation.

also have booked RJays Urban Boots. good quality & gr8 fit. i did not want the shin high boots as i want them to wear in office some times. and Urban boot is a kind of formal looking boot. its waterproof too. still waiting for the shipment to arrive.

so. all in all, apart from helmet, i m all RJays

only RJays product which disappointed is the tornado gloves. one of our fellow xbhpian took them to LEH this year. bcoz they r supposed to be waterproof and winter gloves. he said the gloves disappointed on both front. they got completely wet in rains and so failed to give the required warmth in cold. so i m regretting on buying them

so overall, be BINDHAST, if u want to go for RJays.

I strongly advise you to stay away from Cramster. I bought one pair and on the first use itself the rivets popped out... hardly even an hour of riding. Went back and was offered an exchange but i knew better so got a refund instead.

Bought the A* bionic for 5.2k instead and after almost a year of use it still is performing well.

Here is something that you should consider in lieu of cramster.

At least these are genuine and PRS is doubly trustworthy. Dont compromise on safety by trying to save a few hundred bucks.
