Any bad experiences? I might have made nearly 50 purchases via eBay and online stores using this mode of shipping. None of them had shipment issues. One transaction went bad because of a faulty product but was promptly replaced upon contacting the dealer.

USPS also provides a tracking number and found their tracking to be quite accurate.

Not saying they are the best, but usually online purchase no matter what is a gamble although the stakes are more in the buyer's favour

The protection is good, but It depoends on you if you can wear it for everyday riding.Reason: People will stare if you wear it outside
Its made up of elastic net material with chest, elbow and removable back protection. The back protection gives some rest to back on long rides. The net material provides good ventilation and air flow.

          • What's the difference between Mesh Jacket & Textile Jacket? Any quick & short answer is appreciated. And there's something Nylon too, what's that?

"Mesh" Jackets are made from knitted fibres designed for airflow -your JR Reactor is a mesh. Better quality mesh jackets are made of knitted aramid fibres and even Kevlar or Twaron in top notch products. The "el cheapo" versions are normally just knitted polyester. Sadly even premium brands use knitted polyester in some models instead of aramids since they are easier to work with and produce commercially.

Textile normally refers to fabrics like Cordura in the premium range and Taslon, Oxford, Jacquard in the mid-ranges. Nylon is a lower range material used in entry level products. Textile jackets are normally not suited for very hot and humid climates like 'Singara Chennai' since they don't "breathe".

Beware that a lot of textile jackets claiming to be Cordura and the like are normally not so as Cordura in even 600 dernier is expensive to use commercially in a jacket and it takes a trained and knowledgeable person to spot the difference. PM me if you need more info.

Too huge a subject to be discussed online buddy.

In lay-men terms, 'denier' refers to the density of the fabric. The higher the denier, the denser it is. Obviously in our application, (under regular conditions ) the higher the denier, the better abrasion resistance it will offer.

However, I would like to add a caveat - this also depends on the material that is being measured. 600D Oxford is NOT better than 600D Cordura since Cordura has better resistance properties than Oxford.

A good middle-weight jacket should ideally use 600D Cordura at impact points. This requirement will increase depending on the higher resistance required depending on use of the product. 1000D Cordura supposedly offers similar abrasion resistance to 1.3mm cowhide but is difficult to drape and cut for jackets.

Actually, I wouldn't recommend this product at all. It is designed for impact protection in motor-cross where the emphasis is on IMPACT. Riding to college on city roads require BOTH impact and abrasion protection, which this product would not do, since the exposed armor will likely snag on the road's rough surfaces, and simply rip-off from the lightweight mesh chassis, exposing the rider to injury.

If you do decide to use this product, I would recommend wearing at least a denim jacket over it to bolster the abrasion resistance and at least help prevent the armor ripping off to some extent.

                    • That was an EXCELLENT reply Sunny; I'll keep myself away from Textile. Tks very much. I've made my decision - MESH & MESH only!!! Tks

Edit - Pls keep watching this thread, while I decide on the make & model & post in next 1-2 days; appreciate your opinion on the one I choose. Tks.

I have RJays Swift and it is a nice mesh jacket for Mumbai climate. I had some problems with the water entering the jacket despite of rain liner but got it replaced from Bachoo Motors and the new rain liner is far more better than the old one .

Before buying the Swift I tried the Maze and found it a bit on heavier side. It is also a nice jacket which would serve the same purpose.

PS: If you want to go for Red color only then Maze looks far more better in Red than Swift . I would suggest you to try out both the jackets and then select the one which you are comfortable with.
