  • Sunny & others - Here're few of the ones I sorted out on mesh jackets

EXL Motorcycle Jackets - MJ108 Solid Black Mesh Sport Biker Jacket

Motorcycle Joe Rocket Jacket - Honda Performance Red Mesh Biker Jackets (inclined toward Honda branding)

River Road Sedona Mesh Jacket - RidersDiscount.com

    Pokerun Cool Cruise 2.0 Jacket - RidersDiscount.com

    Cortech Rcx Jacket - RidersDiscount.com

AGV Sport Solare Jacket :: MotorcycleGear.com (Tempting)

Power Trip Mojave Jacket :: MotorcycleGear.com

FieldSheer High Flow II Mesh Jacket - $79.99 closeout special! In stock NOW! :: MSRP: $129.99 (Tempting)

Shift Airborne Mesh Jacket - $89.95 closeout special! In stock NOW! :: MSRP: $119.95

Power Trip Ram Air Jacket - $89.99 closeout special! In stock NOW! :: MSRP: $179.99 (Tempting)

Olympia Nova Hi-Vis Safety Vest - In stock NOW! Our Price: $89.99 (Tempting)

Shift Backdraft Mesh Jacket - $99.95 closeout special! In stock NOW! :: MSRP: $149.95

Scorpion Hat Trick Jacket - $99.99 closeout special! In stock NOW! :: MSRP: $229.99

Or should how viable is this option to get an armor like this - Thor Impact Rig Se Under Protector - RidersDiscount.com & buy another cheap mesh jacket?

My preference is to keep under $100 because I already have JR Reactor 2.0, but, the one I'm buying now is for everyday use, so I prefer something to do its job rather than the branding or image.

What I'm not sure is, there're several & unknown brands (like EXL, First Gear, Cortech, Teknic, Strike Force, Power Trip, Speed & Strength, River road) & not sure how good are these? Or do I have only one choice - Buy another expensive branded mesh jacket?

Appreciate some light on them pls. Tks.

    • Guys, I am looking for a backpack which can hold a L size helmet. I saw the 'Laplace 4.0' on Cramster's website but have heard of quality problems regarding Cramster products, so what other option do I have? I'm tight on budget, so 2k would be the max I could spend at the moment.

I can vouch for Laplace's quality. On a 700km+ ride from blore to trivandrum, I kept the bag attached to the rear seat with bungee cords, placed my (relatively heavy) AGV GP-1 helmet over it, secured by the helmet holder - 3 seemingly flimsy straps and rode like normal. It did not budge even when leaning into fast corners and going over potholed Nagercoil-TVM road.
For its price, its VFM, IMHO

If I place the helmet as shown in the below pic, won't it scratch my helmet's visor? And would a LS2 fit in the bag?

          • Guys how do the RJays Octane and the Alpine TC-1 compare ? What are the pros and the cons in both of them ? And what bout the AXO Pro Race Gloves compare with the Rjays Bandit Gloves ?

Before buying the Swift I tried the Maze and found it a bit on heavier side. It is also a nice jacket which would serve the same purpose.

PS: If you want to go for Red color only then Maze looks far more better in Red than Swift . I would suggest you to try out both the jackets and then select the one which you are comfortable with.
hey, after replacement of rain liner, tell me is the new liner 100% waterproof, as mentioned on website.

what do you exactly mean by " the new rain liner is far more better than the old one ."

              plz tell.

@aargee: are you purchasing through online??
why are you not considering any indian brand like Rjays/DSG or any others available in india.

if you are planning to purchase from "motorcycle superstore", tell me- i have a discout coupon, that you may use, since i have recently purchased from them.

hmmm If I have to carry the helmet in the bag, I just take the soft bag in which the helmet came. Wrap it up, strap it up.. and no worries...
                Yes I can easily hold a LS2..

i can help u with octane for sure. its more value for money than alpine. ventilation is the main advantage of octane over many other jackets. its good quality is well. i personally like the octane then many other jackets which costs much more.

but cant say anything abt alpinestar, as i have never tried them. but the quality of any A* product is obviously non-questionable.

                  • ^^ Octane came into the scenario after I saw yours :P And the offer on the TC-1 is really tempting, so confused with the purchase, the Octane is good in the summer and the A* gets a point for the over-all fit and finish, anything else ?

the only decision u have to make is, do u have the budget to buy the A*. if u have the money then go for A*. simple..... but what i did is, saved those 2000/- odd rupees and bought myself a pair of RJays Jetstream gloves. again ventilation is a big plus to those gloves. i m a sweaty person. so, good ventilation is my first priority. and now, apart from my helmet, all my riding gear is RJays. that includes recently purchased riding pant & riding shoes (edge).

If you are clear that the purpose is strictly for everyday commuting, buy what appeals to you stylistically. I looked at the lot and apart from some styling differences there is very little to tell them apart qualitatively. Bigger and more expensive brand does NOT mean better. For everyday use, I would go for 'cheap and best'! Also, remember bright colours need to be washed more frequently.

I would have personally gone with Olympia, they make awesome stuff - but the choice highlighted is merely a hi-viz vest, not a jacket. Similarly the Thor protector is more for MX than commuting.

Agreed; especially when I'm looking only for VFM products

Hmm...I'm kind of OK with that. Reason being that, mesh can simply be soaked in the WM unlike my JR that has leather top.

WHAAAT??? Hmm...I'm hearing them for first time & didn't know they were big players. Let me dig some more of their products & if I've a good sale anywhere, I'll buy Olympia.
