Are there problems with Seagate 500GB's.
What HDD do you guys prefer. I personally prefer SEAGATE only.
Yeah that happened to me once, I too had a Seagate 7200.12 Barracuda 500Gb, and one fine day it just decided to jump on it's own ass and kill itself . It seems they have some inherent problem or something because I was actually advised to go for WD over Seagate. Anyway it helps to run SeaTools a HDD diagnostic tool from Seagate once in a while to keep track of any anomaly. Get them here SeaTools | Seagate

Hey I came across these VGA coolers which one could attach to an existing graphics card. How effective are they while gaming? Going by the looks, they have these two fans and a heat sink with copper tubes and all.

I saw something similar for the CPU too - liquid cooling with small radiator and all.

Can anyone shed light on how well these things work?

Yeah.......but at 2,500 a pop for a wireless one, I think my money is better spent on another 2Gb RAM module, and I never quite liked playing on a controller, it's so claustrophobic.

I previously installed windows 7 as i got a free lincense and xp went kaput . Since than waiting for Win 7 to go kaput so i can format and install XP again. But the damn thing is running strong and is not giving up.

I run ubuntu hardy heron most of the Time and Audigy woks on it. But again, no EAX or creative surround mixer on Linux. Ubuntu looks fantastic though.

EDIT: I'm really getting annoyed with these console to PC ported games, and this is has got to take the cake for being the stupidest port EVER! It wasn't actually designed to take in custom user inputs!! Why?? This was the statement released by them "it detracts from the experience the creators intended" WTF?? What exactly was the experience intended? Rip out your hair and scream at the screen with frustration? I'm giving it one more shot using a third-party keyboard mapper emulator. But for those who are actually planning on buying this half-assed game.........DON'T. And oh BTW if you have a wheel and wish to play this game on it, throw it out the garbage 'cause it doesn't support one either.

That cabinet is way too small for even the lowest end cards. You could get a new cabinet for 1K and then put in a good card.

Probably bcoz of the graphic card's limited ability, none of the latest games are running, even the ones which run at max on my lappy(Core2Duo, 2.2Ghz, 1GB ATI).

The problem is the CPU is the small size one, approx 4 x 12 x 15 inches.

Which graphic card would be best suited for this config, in the range of about 8000 bucks ??
ATi Radeon HD4850 or 4870 would be a good choice at that price range!!

    My new system YAY

The Delhi heat has killed my mood for OCing . I get idle temps of 50/55 C on cpu and gfx respectively.

Need 2 more fans, and Delhi winters. Then OCing is easy.

I have an old LCD now, with resolution 1280x800. Everything runs maxed out and I am quite happy with it, for now.

^^ Well I've searched for patches from Bizarre there are only two out as of now, one unlocks the level caps from 10 to a 15 and the other unlocks a few exotic tier cars and that's it, they are not even considering this as an issue to be resolved from what I could read from the forums. As far as other racing titles goes, you have Split-Second which is another Mario-Kart genre. I played that too, the gameplay is fun but at times you can get really annoyed by the AI, where your opponents simply whizz past you when you're at full throttle as though you were standing still, and then it's very difficult to catch them too. But atleast they don't handicap you with the controls. There's also the V8 Superstars Racing out now. It's more a sim type, where you ride the Cup-Class Saloon Car Championship.

Is there any possibility that they will release a patch of any sorts so as one can alter the default settings.

I have finished Shift and almost completed GRID. Any other latest racing games worth playing for?

but dont expect any serious gaming capabilities, your processor is gonna seriously bottleneck the GPU.
Yes. It's retailing for 6500 bucks over here.. 9800GT 1GB ram (sLI compatible).
IMPORTANT: U NEED TO HAVE AN ATX MOTHERBOARD, micro ATX wont do (I just found out my mobo is micro atx, no place to fit new sound card..
going in for new mobo too)
