That's great, considering that your PC is 4 years old. AMD's are really turning the heat on for Intel processors.

check again the heating prob and if needed put one additional fan for cooling

    my specs:
    AMD dual core X4600
    4GB RAM
    512MB Graphics card
    24'' LCD monitor
    4 fans for cooling
I have this problem only while playing games, and not whn playing HD videos,i am not facing any problem with any other applications

and one more thing the graphic card is onboard.

P.S: Could you tell me to which configuration in Intel does your CPU performance matches. for e.g. is your CPU equal to Dual core Intel or....
50~60 till 75 are allowed temperatures for AMDs
    INTELs story is totally different

I used PASSMARK benchmark tool to benchmark my cpu
My cpu score is higher than to the one uploaded by others, obviously dual cores(4200+)

PassMark CPU Benchmarks - High Mid Range CPU's

check this : FIND AMD 4200+

My cpu score is 1225 and it equals this INTEL cpu

    Intel Core2 Duo T7400 @ 2.16GHz

    CORE TEMP reports:
    CORE#0:52
    CORE#1:46

    FAN1(CPU)-3027rpm
    FAN2(cabinet)-2050rpm

its normal. If there is problem of heat dissipation cpu should be burning up .
plz elaborate how could a improper heat dissipation would cause a problem like this>?

from the report u given .. i don;t think anything wrong with processor... just apply heat sink paste and properly tight the heat sink ... check the fan.. it will solve ur prob ... and also check heat dissipation on ur graphics card and its fan.

now the problem is i am not experiencing the same gaming experience after all these things happened
let me give the details of my config, pretty old system

    ASUS M2npv-vm
    AMD 64 x2 4200+ @2.2GHz
    RAM 2.5 GB 667
    NVidia 6150 128MB

you must be thinking that with this config i shouldn't get any good performance
its true that it is old but most of the games i've played worked just fine
NFS uG2 to NFS undercover all worked fine, with medium settings

now after the incident, when i played NFS MW i noticed that iam getting 'paused' effect while playing it
the game is not lagging, its just like pause for a second or so and then it continues, graphics are same as before,no loss in that.
before the incident it ran very well ,as smooth as butter no pauses whatsoever

to check that i played NFS UG2 with medium high settings at 1024*768,again its having the pause effect while playing its just for a half-a-second or so,the graphics are good

i checked NFS UNDERCOVER-iam not able to run this gome smoothly even on 640*480settings,earlier it used

YouTube - game play of nfs undercover with buggati(sanjay's pc)

watch this vid of undercover on my PC recorded before the incident
( i recorded this vid for my frnd so bear with the quality and be patient plz!)

see i was running that game on 800*600

    but now its totally busted

i am unable to zero in the culprit
    my primary suspect :cpu

I ran several benchmarking tests, and to my surprise CPU's performance was upto to the mark
i checked real time clocking freq its 2.2GHZ as it supposed to be

Evn checked with memtest86 to rule out the chance of any defects in RAM modules
NVIDIA 6150 is also upto the mark

what do you think about this? who is the culprit here?

ps:i live in a remote place and iam the only one running AMD processor so as to check other's AMD on my system

I considered buying a new graphic card, but even a new graphic card wouldn't help if the fault is with cpu
I couldn't fathom how a broken VSS pin could possibly contribute to this.

    See post no #2555
i explained my prob in that post
So, better sell it off. And donot tell the seller the problem. That's probably the best way you could get a margin for this piece.

Coming to the topic... AMD's come with 3 years limited warranty so check your CPU's OPN... It starts with ADX and is something like this: ADX***###**## (*=Numerical #=Alphabet Charecters) check it on AMD's site to see if its warranty is still valid. If it is, Contact the local distributor to have it replaced.

Other problem is, the CPU model is no longer in offering so I doubt if you will get a "like for like". You may get a refurbished or a similar unit. Anyways All the best
