should one upgrade his computer ---- meaning selling old one and buying new
getting 3.5 k for it so no selling
or to go for the PS3 or xbox

i have the tv that will suit needs for the gaming consoles
but what you guys say?

The amount of money you'd spend on gaming PC , the same money u'll have to shell out on the games on consoles (any latest big name game costs 3k , a good game costs 2.5k , platinum editions 1.5k , second hand games 1k: assuming 'P' games on PC and original ones on console) . For me , console gaming is more fun and you don't have to worry about hardware at any point of time.

between xbox and ps3 , i will always vote for ps3 (if you have the money). We all know abt the Sony quality and reliability. plus , ps3 gives you a blu-ray player , which is a big positive.

was playing crysis warhead today, AGAIN ... i just love the option where you are allowed to customize your weapon..... are there any more games like that which allows us to do such things????

^ didnt know it was a series , I have played one which came out in 2000 , it was nice

There are Five of them, IV being the hardest on Champion settings I've ever played. The only thing I like about Champion difficulty is, the neutral armies **** the hell out of the computer AI. Still, it takes like months to complete even a single scenario of any campaign. Very, very dificult without cheats and hacks.

Anyway, I was wondering if the fifth installment is worth...playing?

Any mid range pc(Assembled) u get will be more than a match for any console right now.Consoles cannot match the kind of fun u get on a pc-Read CO4 online.The games are practically free.I do not think u will have to upgrade every 6 months to play every game that comes your way.
Every console game costs a BOMB this comes from a fool(me) who owns Xbox 360 original games worth Rs25000.

i see you are from chennai...im planning to buy new cpu in a week...are you sure prices will drop in 2weeks???.i heard 9800GT(Rs7500k) and HD4830 cost similar..which performs better??..how much is hd4850 & hd4830?

^^AMD needs to clear stock before they launch the HD5xxx. what better way to do it rather than dropping prices...
the HD4850 is better any day.... as Aparajith was saying, the 9xxx series don't perform well compared to the ATi counter parts...
i donot know about the price of HD4830... but the HD4850 would be dropped atleast 2k... and retail for about 7k...

i have an E8400... its a processor dedicated for gaming.....

EDIT:
as i told before, i have no idea on AMD processors... but AMD proccy's are generally leaned towards gaming...

yeah thats true
the fun we get in pc is more than gaming consoles

but what about the graphics
bloody even game makers like EA and others are biased towards gaming consoles with betters graphics
i remember them telling during 09 launch that they have tried to keep the same level of graphics this time for pc also
damn ......

and why do u buy original cds
i cant use that word here
but non original cd's come for not more than RS 100

heard that we have to fit something in the consoles so that we can use these cheap cds instead of the costly ones
thats the only way i guess
otherwise ofcourse we wont be able to buy all games and enjoy

This is because consoles contribute to 80-90% of games revenue.

Console specific games are ok , u cant even play them on pc. IMO,The only disadvantage about console specific games wud be god of war which can only be played on a play station. xbox and pc gamers dont know wht they have missed.

console specific games are released on pc after sometime like 9 months or so until and unless microsoft or sony want some exclusivity
and that also for some great games like as u said
god of war.... although i dont know it ,,, taken as per ur say

i dont remember the name .... but there was a game from microsoft also which is awesome and legendary like but only available for xbox
