    2x2 GB DDR3 ~4K
Use that old DVD or CD ROM, or new one is ~1.2K
    HDD : 500 GB is 2.3K
    PSU : Some nice 500-600W supply - ~3K
Cabby: U decide. Zebronics Bijli is nice one ~1.5K

    And lastly, the GPU:
NV 9800 GT ~6.5K or its renamed version GTS 250
    HD 4850 ~6.5K

See the Personal Comp thread. Built a system for a friend at 17K and runs stuff great. When gaming, cheap CPU and powerful GPU is the stuff that will push out more FPSs.

Since you are keeping the LCD, what size & resolution is it? That will decide the GPU.
Because the old Rig is totally out of use so I dont remember what resolution I was running!
But the Monitor is LG LCD 19'' and SAMSUNG Flat monitor 17'' [both are new]

What's the price of AMD Phenom ll X4??
And Lastly a superb GPU is the ultimate must in my PC..
    Price under 8k mark..
Whats the ATI Radeon counterpart for Nvidia 9800 GT??

Thanks for getting bugged and still helpin.. :P

    • Phenom II X4 955 is around 8-9K

If you want to spend 8K for the GPU then a HD 4870 might fit in.
The 9800GT and HD 4770 (4830 also) are somewhat similar. But if spending 8K why not the 4870?

The 5770 is tempting but its ~11K.

Well I checked Online for spec sheets and price's!
4870 was around 10-11k grands, out of my budget!
4830 was gud and in reasonable grands. 9800GT was behind ATI in nearly every sheet.
Rather why shouldnt I buy a Mobo with Xfire and crossfire it the day when I feel one card isnt enuf to give me ultimate result?

Btw..am running 1280 X 800 resolution, currently and no way I want to go beyond this resolution, so I would be playin games on 1280 X 800..

            Thanks for the answers!

street prices are usually a fair bit cheaper than what online stores quoe, so its best you check with your local HW dealer.

Since you mentioned that you won't be changing your monitor, a single 4870 will definitely be enough to run all games neatly. so stick with a single GPU mobo if that saves you any money. Plus for Crossfiring, you'll need to invest heavily in a really good Power supply unit(SMPS), which will set you back another 5-6k.

And keeping the crossfire option open for the future aint such a good idea, cuz by then your current GPU would've become obsolete.

Uh got a problem here, does Dirt 2 need to be signed in via GFW Live online to be able to enable autosave and access your gamer profile? How can i play this thing offline? I had to create an account but am still not able to get the autosave enabled because i don't have the product key of the game (for obvious reasons) since GFW Live asks for the key after signing in, so everytime i'm starting all over from the first again.

                    • Nope nothing, i sign in to a Games For Windows Live dialog box that pops i at the very first start screen (the one with Ken Block saying "Welcome to Colin McRae Dirt 2" and the tags hanging on the wall) offline and it asks for my product key .

then find a new Crack dealer. My dirt2_game.exe is ~22MB

I just tried on another OS where i didnt have a LIVE profile. Went to Create profile>Offline profile>entered name, and thats it. Working Fine.

Zip it to me my good man, you know how agonising it is to have a game like this and not be able to fully use it, its reducing me to tears. BTW is it the same if i uninstall GFW?

1280X800 means absolutely no need to XFire. Plonk in even a 4850 and you can max out almost all games.

The 4870 should be around 8-9K at dealers, check at their shops.

                              True!
My 'computerwala' quoted 8.5K grands for ATI 4870..

Though can u suggest me a good Mobo in resonable price, 25k grands is the whole budget?

So finally the GPU is finallised.
                              Its ATI RADEON 4870

                              Processor finalised too..
                              AMD PHENOM II X4
Only 3k more than C2D, whereas C2Q was way costlier, I series not considring.
                              So why not a X4!
Though I can set back to X2 if the budget exeeds way byond 25k mark.

Corsair 550VX will handle the supply well.

MotherBoard, confused and undecided, but it won't be a crossfire atleast!

Zebronic's Bijli, as suggested by Tanay is good.

                              Any Idea on cooling unit?

                              4GB kingston RAM.
                              320GB SEGATE HDD.

                              Anything I am missing guys?

I wanted the processor and GPU to be good, because they are the most Important component's.

And you're correct bout that future statement. We cannot race with the Technology. This is the happiest as well as saddest truth to know.
Happiest because, every other day we have somthing new and diffrent to live life for.
Saddest because every other day we lag behind the tech and we have to rerun the life to catch it again.

8.5K Grands, affordability at its best!
                                Decided on 4870.

Btw..installed and unistalled Fuel on my Lappy yesterday.
Game was good but I dont like the all-terrains much!
Even on the lowest setting game wasnt smooth.. I guess Intel GPU is the culprit all the way.

Tanay, read my list, any guesses on Mobo?
