it may be due to b'lore trafik man...He heOriginally posted by krish View PostCan someone please list out the company owned pumps in Bangalore??
I'm yet to find one and I find that the smoothness and mileage have gone down drastically after I came to bangalore. I've only filled from normal fuel pumps. Mileage has come down to 31kmpl on my ZMA (normal riding), whereas when I filled from company owned HP pump from Chennai I had got 34-37 kmpl consistently (34 when ridden hard).
I last filled from a BP pump near Diary circle and found the mileage has actually gone up to 33 kmpl. Considering Bangy traffic, thats good.

Your octane requirement is not directly linked to the compression ratio alone. Use any normal fuel, it will be fine. Doesn't have to be 97 octane or whatever.Originally posted by DriftKingNT View PostSomeone answer this."Tough times never last, but tough people do." - Robert Schuller

Hi Akhil,
Shell sells only one grade of Petrol in India: Shell Super Unleaded which is designed for Extra Miles.
The octane of Shell Super is 91 and we sell this grade of Octane at all our pumps.
We look forward to serving you on our sites.

@rossiter:sorry for the late reply,i missed your post completelyOriginally posted by rossiter View Post@nabendubasu: So all fuels are back to 87 octane?
first of all what i felt in these long years that is some improvement in mileage and refinement comes to the engine as we go on upgrading octane number.
and a lot of booster is availble in after market(and have seen sunny with those booster during GIR for his cbr).
and did i told 87 octane or 89? if i have told 87 then i am wrong it is 89.http://www.iocl.com/Products/GasolineSpecifications.pdf
check the link and the RON written,88 is the minimum.(it was mentioned by setuniket also)
and as of i work on the production line i dont know the details but will get the lab detail of the fuels as soon as possible and post it here.
and purity of the fuel fully depends on the pump owner and the driver helper of the tanker who brings the fuel from the refinery to the pumps.many measures are taken to prevent the misuse but still you know it is INDIA.(just an example :tanker drivers monthly salary varies from 900-1100/pm here still they works
)
PS: YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO CHECK THE FUEL OF THE BUNKER FROM WHERE YOU BUY FUELS.THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO PROVIDE YOU THE EQUIPMENTS NEEDED FOR THAT.dont take it for granted that you will get that.Last edited by nabendubasu; 11-20-2008, 05:22 PM.
