I am going for the avenger coil + 65watt headlight bulb on my pulsar 180DTS-i UG3.
I have just some final doubts.
1. Is the stator plate from avenger 180 a direct fit on my bike? Will this void the warranty or is it like no one would ever know??
2. Will the current headlight wiring be able to withstand the current passing through it after using the 65watt assembly? Will it deliver the optimum power? I've heard there is a specific limit to the maximum current that can pass through a wire without the wire burning.
I don't want to end up with burnt wiring. What if the wiring burns when I'm on the highway with no lights?[now that would be a scary situaion].
So experts please comment.
3. Are the HS1 and H4 sockets the same?? I have two osram car headlight bulbs lying around in the house. They are 65W H4 halogen bulbs.
I am all set to get the mod done. But these are some doubts I had.

earlier battery is weak to produce sufficient light to HID,so another charger of same make added as parallel to charge battery as fast as possible but after replacing weaker battery by new one now there is no need of extra charger.this is totally local jugaad in dilli ishtyleOriginally posted by velociraptor13 View Posterr..dont thrash me for asking, whats a double charger set up?

and also useful.

What happened was the earlier battery that i had was Weak, as result of which what happened was as soon as I put the HID on the battery started to get discharged faster than what it was getting chargd
,so what we did was an extra charger was attached parellel to the same wiring of the same make
,so that what the extra current which was getting waste could be utilised to charge the battery faster
,it sure worked well for atleast 3 months
then i got money to get the battery changed i got that extra charger removed and now it is working normally..

And please see as rightly said by C_sbk it is completely a Typical Dilli Jugaard, that we have done..

Actually....one more thing is there...!Originally posted by velociraptor13 View Postoh okay, since i have a unicorn, will changing from a 7ah unit to a 9ah unit work out, since i am planning to go for HID?
Thanks for answering my query.
There is something called as RR(pulsar owners mite be able to clarify more on this) unit....which is used to charge the battery at a faster rate....!!

Inder bhai, unlike the pulsar in which i cud have directly swapped out the stock coil to that of the avenger coil+rr(that makes all pulsar owners very luckyOriginally posted by inder.cool View PostActually....one more thing is there...!

),but since i ride a unicorn , that restricts my scope for such mods

So, now only option left is the battery upgrade..!

sadly yes.Another option is to go for a coil rewind, but again reliability is the issue since i dont wanna get stranded alone in a dark highway with a busted coil.moreover i didnt find anyone who cud do the rewinding job.All i get is a wide eyed stares and the question "Whats a coil rewind?"Bangalore guys are luckyOriginally posted by inder.cool View PostOhh that way..!!

Ask motor abt the after effectsOriginally posted by velociraptor13 View Postsadly yes.Another option is to go for a coil rewind, but again reliability is the issue since i dont wanna get stranded alone in a dark highway with a busted coil.moreover i didnt find anyone who cud do the rewinding job.All i get is a wide eyed stares and the question "Whats a coil rewind?"Bangalore guys are lucky

HEHE i heard the poor bloke had to tow his 200 due to a coil failure.bajaj bikes have a dry type coil unlike like in honda engines where the engine oil is circulated thru the coils too ensuring they remain cool.Hope my info is rightOriginally posted by inder.cool View PostNa na...dont try the coil rewind option...!!! I think his case was that he had changed the oil and also not got the servicing done for quite a long time....due to which the stock coil got busted and then for a "Jugaad" he got it done from some local mech....since then he has been facing starter problems..!!Originally posted by velociraptor13 View PostHEHE i heard the poor bloke had to tow his 200 due to a coil failure.bajaj bikes have a dry type coil unlike like in honda engines where the engine oil is circulated thru the coils too ensuring they remain cool.Hope my info is right

Are you talking about the Regulator Rectifier?
TCI bullets feature this unit. As it's name suggests, the rectifier converts AC to DC.
The regulator absorbs/regulates the power.
So, if you could tune/make a R/R unit to give you the required voltage from the battery, it might work for the HIDs. This unit has managed to provide enough power to the powerful Denso electric starter on the Bullets.Last edited by jayprashanth; 02-04-2009, 07:31 PM.
