Are you talking about the Regulator Rectifier?

TCI bullets feature this unit. As it's name suggests, the rectifier converts AC to DC.

    The regulator absorbs/regulates the power.

So, if you could tune/make a R/R unit to give you the required voltage from the battery, it might work for the HIDs. This unit has managed to provide enough power to the powerful Denso electric starter on the Bullets.
    Exactly...the right word...

The bike is running fine...not a problem with that...but the starter makes some odd noises while starting and secondly, he has to keep the starter pressed for a span of 4-5 seconds for starting the bike...unlike our bike which starts at just a little push..!

Is any modification to the coil required to use the NB? Or is it a direct fit??

@ Hellraiser: If at all possible upgrade to a 9ah battery from a mere 5ah battery for the dio..do go in for the coil rewinding..!!

                • I want to get HID lights for my yamaha FZ 16. I am new to all these...
                  1. Is it going to void my warranty?
                  2. Will my battery suffer? (FZ16 has no kickstart, so battery must not suffer)
                  3. Do they have to carry on major modifications/ simple plugging?

                  Please help...

I have just some final doubts.
                    1. Is the stator plate from avenger 180 a direct fit on my bike? Will this void the warranty or is it like no one would ever know??
                    2. Will the current headlight wiring be able to withstand the current passing through it after using the 65watt assembly? Will it deliver the optimum power? I've heard there is a specific limit to the maximum current that can pass through a wire without the wire burning.
I don't want to end up with burnt wiring. What if the wiring burns when I'm on the highway with no lights?[now that would be a scary situaion].
                    So experts please comment.
                    3. Are the HS1 and H4 sockets the same?? I have two osram car headlight bulbs lying around in the house. They are 65W H4 halogen bulbs.
I am all set to get the mod done. But these are some doubts I had.
No replies yet?Oh cmon people a little help here

                    • Hi.

I have been running the avenger coil setup on my 180 for about a year now.
the only mistake I did was not choosing the current bulb.
                      (Philips crystal Vision)

                      Yes. its a direct fit.
The current wires can withstand the extra load.

and I think the bulb sockets are same too.

So go ahead enjoy the bright days ahead. !!

                      cheers
                      Avin..
