Yeah bro it is good

K&N is fine.. Pipercross is also good, but as for R15, trust me it'll definitely improve your performance, but affect your mileage (atleast 4-7kmpl), and simultaneously affect your engine! So before installing anything, just think about it!

Hey guys i have a query regarding stock replacement filter for r15 v2.

Which is best: K&N, BMC or Simota???

I want sound and performance both.

Almost all three are the same except for the colors, one is red, one is green and one is blue except for the fancy colors. Most after market airfilters are cotton gauze and do their job pretty well. SUCK more air, and they are very good at that.

R15 has a plug and play filter from K&N which can be used, and it definitely will give you good throaty grown and tad improved low end, very hard to notice, but being a revvy engine it is, it will like the FFAF. But stock is more than enough in most cases, unless you're into racing or something. All you get is some bumped up sound and that's about it.

Get a free flow exhaust and an after market FFAF, you will be thundering down the road.

Got a question about k&n rc 1060 installation on pulsar 200ns (the beast ), I have gone to the mechanic and removed the air filter box and attached the k&n filter directly into the carb. Now there are 2 pipes lying useless, which was fitted onto the air filter box, i noticed one is for sucking air and other one is for god knows what. The mechanic says the air in the carb will go through the mouth of the carb only where i have fixed the k&n air filter. Then what are those 2 pipes lying vacant for?

Red Moreover most don't know this fact. Using a filter in a sub 150 cc bike is more or less useless not completely though. Except for the grunt and a very very slight noticeable improvement in performance which is almost as hard to notice when riding normally.

I have to say even on a friend's pulsar 180-k & n was useless, even after retuning the carb. My experince says k&n on a sub 180cc bike would do be more pain than gain.
But after I got the pulsar 200 ns, k&n 1060 with a bit of carb retuning(using the 3000 rpm principle) is worth it.
The reason is may be because the jet size is bigger, the engine is way more capable (23.5 bhp) or more importantly because its a liquid cooled bike. Liquid cooling is way more effective, than air cooling and hence helps maintain engine's efficiency.
The sub180 cc bikes after a k&n installation, end up with too much of air in the engine,for which a lot of hit and trial re jetting is required. And its seriously not worth, because even if you are getting an aggressive sound, its at the expense of the engine life.

And yes NS has a carb.

They maybe induction and engine blowby tubes, it's not a problem to leave them dangling, but blowby causes oil to come out from the engine which is normal and to make sure the oil doesn't splash everywhere it's hooked onto the AF box. But nothing to worry.
