My wife is very keen to buy a gearless scooter. Today we went to Honda, Hero Honda & TVS showroom to take test ride on their products.

We have narrowed down to two
    1. Honda ACTIVA
    2. TVS WAGO

Honda has 25 days waiting period. It's not offering any accessories too, not even the front box to store stuff. I personally feel that ACTIVA is now very commonly seen on roads. It's just too ubiquitous. It has a bit of more storage space under the seat though. The petrol tank, as like others is under the seat & one has to open the seat to get access to the fuel tank.

WAGO on the other hand seems quite good. It's new with it's engine in middle rather than one sided (BODY BALANCE TECHNOLOGY). It has few accessories as standard part. It too has quite a large storage space under the seat but bit lesser when compared to Activa. The best part is to fill fuel, one need not to open the seat as it's external.

So, guys, please help me out with choosing out of the above. Honda has the biggest advantage of being one of the best in business while TVS is new but surely not a novice. Please help.

Toh bhabhi ko scooty dilwaya ja rha hai...bohot achhe

I went through the same dilemma when a close friend had to buy a scoot, she ended up buying the HH pleasure but that was just because of the priyanka chopra commercial.

As per me, The HH scoots, i.e. the activa, pleasure, and aviator are quite good reliability wise as well as in terms of cost of ownership. Spares are cheap, don't require much maintenance and FE is about 40 in all three. Out of the HH trio, I'd say go for the activa, it has a massive under seat storage compartment and can be ridden by you too if the need be.

The problem with HH trio is of delivery period. Activa has the max period of about a month and has been loosing out on sales for this reason as no-one wants to wait for an entire month for a scoot. If you can work with this then I'd say go for activa eyes closed. Try some under the table jugaads, maybe that will reduce the delivery time.

TVS wego, well I don't know much about this one. But this is a new product from the stable of an Indian company. Not saying that it is a bad product, only signifying that it is new. ABout that body balance tech, try getting a test ride of any other scoot without the body balance tech, even with my 15 years old kinetic I don't feel any balancing problems so the new age scoot surely don't feel imbalanced without this new TVS tech.

Although, opening up the seat for filling up fuel is a welcomed feature. I think it's a first on any indian scoot till date, thumbs up to TVS for that. Still this feature alone is not sufficient to be a dealbreaker or dealmaker. I don't mind getting off the seat and getting fuel filled in my kinetic, but I don't know about bhabhiji.

    My advice is, 1st preference=activa

and if the delivery period is unacceptable then go for wego.
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

bhaiyya thanks bolke sharminda mat kro

what's the difference betweek a telescopic and a hydraulic shocker? Hydraulic means using fluids, in respect of shocks, it is the fork oil, but that is present in case of telescopic shocks also. So what's is the difference between the two?

Well to be precise activa has link type suspension. Due to this the activa has a much better stability & load carrying capacity but at the cost of shock absorption i.e. not so good on roads with potholes. While the wego has the regular telescopic suspension found on our bikes too & we all know that its qualities are quite contrary to the ones of link type suspension.

Honda Aviator is simply a premium version of Activa(only in terms of cost), better go for Activa or Access.
Just FYI, Pleasure would be the cheapest, best in class FE , lighter, no waiting time, best after sales & service, you do a TD of Pleasure.
BTW check out the OTR in your place, in B'lore all scooters are close to 50K or more.

I think lesser FE due to the bigger engine size, heavier weight and suzuki after sales support ain't the best. Add to that the fact that the extra 2 bhp when compared to activa won't matter to bhabhiji like most female riders I know of.

In Bangalore, the waiting period is around 3 months for Activa & Access, 1 month for Aviator. What other option left.? I test drove WEGO & was impressed with it's suspension, but not with it's seating(slightly slanting in the front & doesn't give a good thigh support). Hero Honda pleasure looks tiny.

Any dealers in Bangalore who can give quick delivery of Activa or Aviator.

Any wego owners to share their experience(likes & dislikes)? Looks like, out of the quick delivery scooters WEGO seems to be the best choice.

I picked up a WEGO a couple of months ago for my wife and she LOVES it! Super light, excellent mileage so far. It gives me 45 kmpl and has done about 2015 kms. Second service due.

Carries both of us eagerly. Wifely particularly likes the centre stand and compared to the Activa, she feels like lifting a cycle (we had a borrowed Activa for 5 months).

The suspension is very good and dampens the potholes very well. Far better than the Activa's suspension. The large wheels add to the comfort too.

Even I got a wego for my sis & wife. Clocked around 400kms so far. They are still learning. So I take office at times
                        Some honest review..
                        its a good bike
the acceleration & pickup is really good.
I loved the fuel nob, which is no more underneath the seat.
Yes, the stand is super-awesome. Specially designed for girls. I can put up on stand with just a single hand feather touch.
The suspension is OK i would say. Not sure though, as it gives me 'thud' even on a smallest pot-hole. But i think this could be every gear-less bike around. Acceptable though.
Even on 70 its smooth. Never felt any stress & after first servicing its much better.
the wheels are pretty awesome & tyres grip is really nice.
Test ride one, you wont be dissapointed

Activa or Access? Need help please

                          Hi all,

One of my friend is owns a Kinetic Honda Zoom which he has been using for the past 6months, and he is planning to buy a new scooter.

There are four people working in his office, including him. He runs a computer hardware & DTP (Banners, invitation cards, brochure printing business).

The Kinetic Honda is used to for luggage transportation most of the time. He is planning to buy a new scooter so that he and his wife can use it to travel from office to home & vice versa. His requirements are
                          • Smooth Ride & good suspension (anything more than Kinetic Honda)
                          • Seat height to be comfortable (he is around 5feet 6inches)
                          • 40-45kmpl mileage
                          • not much damage should happen in case the vehicle falls (as his wife will also be riding it - so a bit worried)
                          • less than 55K (on road price)
                          • Rarely the vehicle might carry two people + 20-25kgs of paper/ similar weight - should be strong enough for this

I took him to Suzuki Showroom on Millers road, and booked a Access (60days back) as he was not comfortable with the wideness & height of new activa.
Scooty is ruled out - power is too less for his requirements, He is not comfortable with headlight design, as very often he rides late at night in no/few street light areas (near his home).

The problem is I am not sure if Access is a better option than Activa (no test ride given at showroom). I have never ridden one, so I asked him to hold his 45K payment to the showroom till I get advice from xbhp.

Activa maintenance is costly, what about suzuki access? Please help us decide

Though Access is good, but it is not better than the Activa or even the Aviator(personal opinion).Suzuki A.S.S and spare parts availability is a major concern.
I own an activa,(10,500kms)and don't have a single issue so far
And coming to the maintenance part,i have only incurred the expenses for engine oil, nothing more.
I would say go for the activa, and if aviator is available soon/less waiting period then you can go for it too.
