Guys, I need opinion regarding selection of a gearless scooter that will be driven by my dad mainly within the city limits of Chandigarh.

After having faced lots of troubles with a Kinetic, we want a new gearless scooter now.

What I wish to know is:

    1) Does Suzuki Access have after market/third party spare parts available with local mechanics? All local mechanics do know how to handle an Activa.
    2) I have heard that Activa suffers from starting troubles a lot. I have actually witnessed this too as my neighbours have to do a lot of kicks and selfstarts in the morning, trying to start their Activa. Is this really common issue with Activa.

Finally, should one go for Suzuki Access over the tried and tested Activa?

You can give a test ride at TVS Wego, I got my TVS Wego three weeks back & found it to be good in many aspects. I have driven Kinetic honda extensively & in comparison to it, Wego scores high in many areas like height, comfort, mileage, under seat storage, easy of access of petrol tank, putting the vehicle in main stand, pickup , etc..

Most of the drawbacks of Kinetic Honda mentioned above are found in Activa too. The only bad thing about Wego is that it doesn't have HONDA badge in it's engine which really matters for Indians. This is my first TVS vehicle and I am satisfied with it & hope I can maintain it well too.

Thanks a lot Satyamzma and Ashwhin. I have dropped Aviator from the chase. I feel an Activa with metal body is a better pick as compared to fibre bodied Aviator. Though Aviator is easier to get with a waiting period of 20 days as compared to 5 months for Activa.

@Ashwhin- I do not believe in brand or badge value and the "herd mentality". So Honda isn't the God for me as well. Regarding WEGO and other scooters, I haven't considered them as the scooter will be driven by my dad. So have to select out of some relatively older models only. WEGO is a very good scooter otherwise. Congrats and happy driving.
