  • rtr 180 or p220???

I am goin to buy a bike dis September but I'm very confused between Pulsar 220 and RTR180. pulsar 220 will be a bit heavy on me but i can handle it.. this is the reason why many of my friends are suggesting to go for rtr180.. i also kinda like it but i don't have too much trust over TVS engine.. i have heard rtr vibrates a lot n the maintainence is also very high...I want a bike which will not give much trouble regarding servicing...what do you guys suggest rtr180 or Pulsar220??

My apologies, I am suddenly not in the usual helping mode now. Coz I think this is one of the most boring sections in xBHP.

Here you go though, some threads to read about. Some of the comments are from the ones who have the same bike, or a bike from the same manufacturer and hence will ridiculously promote it. Do read with a pinch of salt.

You have hardly told us why would you use the bike for.

RTR, engine vibration is true... its bearable though.. people who grew old riding a Honda complain about this ONLY! For everything else it does, it does in style
Maintenance wise there isnt much difference atleast in the state we belong.

The P220 is good torquey machine but IMO it looses out on flickability and braking that the RTR can give.

The RTR on the other hand is a crazy acceleraing machine, but it has the worst set of tyres on em!

      Read, ride, research and buy.

well well i m also planning the same bike this sept
both the bikes are good, but as far as i heard TVS engine is good but there are hell lot of vibrations on it. The maintainance is bear-able as comapred to Bajaj !
If u goin for good economy then apache is the one
        wereas me planning for P220

Tvs is more reliable than bajaj..and the maintenance cost of pulsar is more as compared to apache. You have got it wrong that tvs engines are not reliable. They are much more reliable than pulsars..Go ahead and buy the apache and i am sure you will like every ride of it'.

Stock TVS tyres are good but looses grip a bit on wet roads.

P220S will be a better choice IMHO
