Congrats.... Make sure that you dont get cheated with an old model.
Though i dont know how to make that sure.
Presence of MIND and self CONFIDENCE is the primary aspect You need to be on road, not what brand your riding gears are.
If you lack these two then DONT

Thanks, when I had visited the showroom, I noticed the ZMA on display had a MFG date as Nov 2010 on a sticker in the numer plate. I don't know if the bike was MFD in Nov 2010 or the number plate !!.

          Guys,

Just wanted to know if there is anything in particular to ZMA that I need to be aware of before or after delvery. Also is the run-in similar to other bikes or it there anything different ?

As far as the Run-in period's concern, it's almost the same for every bike with a new mill in it. Just take her real slow and be gentle on the throttle, avoid rapid acceleration & de-acceleration. A short burst here and there is just acceptable but not on a regular basis which will knock ur engine down soon. Before all this, sit down & go through the owners manual where it says all about ur machine which most people fail to look-out for. Have a great time with her..!

              Finally got my 2011 ZMA R !

              Hi Friends ,

Thank you for all the suggestions and inputs, I finally got my new 2011 ZMA-R. WOW ! It's Awesome ! Thats the word. While I am finding it very difficult to maintain the speed limit of 60kmph, on the other hand it as smooth as a knife through butter. I think I can compare its refinement to Unicorn engine.

The control is really good and I am getting used to the fixed headlight fairing already. Gears are slightly hard which I guess should be fine after 1st service. I am not sure abt the mileage since i tanked up 14.5 litres and it is still not come to reserve. The seat is also very comfortable for long rides. Brakes ! This is the best I have seen till date among Indian Bikes. The cluster has been changed to black background with yellow lettering which is cool in the night.

The only issues I have found in the past 2 days of ownership is the chain is very loose which I dont know if they have made intentionally for a new bike or missed out tightening ! The other problem is slight vibration of the engine gaurd at certain rpms. I think the engine gaurd is touching the alternator casing and vibrates at certain frequencies.

I will post some good pics after my first service which I think will come up this weekend itself (500-750km). For now I am uploading few pics taken on my cell (2MP).

Mods - You can probably move this to the First Impressions thread.

Will post the next ownership details in a the Motorcycle Ownership Experience thread.

Are they still not offering rear disc or is it an option.
Never upgrade without getting your basics RIGHT.

No they are not offering rear disc for ZMA-R. However it is std fitment for ZMR. Surprisingly HH Hunk has a optional rear disk !!

Karizma has a known problem of chain getting loose too often. i had 2 ZMA's and both of them had similar issues. I used to get them tightened, but a few days the problem reappeared again.

Hope they have resolved the issue with the current crop. Also, both my ZMA's had issue of knocking in 1st gear.

                        Anyways, I sold them both.

Is there no other solution for the chain problem ? Is the chain getting loose or is it the chain slapping at a particular speed and particular gear ?

How about removing a link or two from the chain? Will it solve the problem?
