Regarding Vibes issue in Apache
Hi Guys,
I did a test drive of RTR with pillion, the bike looks comfortable.
I am planning to go ahead with this. One last thing I am concerned about it is -1. vibes issue that people mentioned about RTR
2. Skidding issue with its tvs tyres.
People even mentioned that vibes become so high at speends above 65 that it becomes difficult for pillion to rest his/her feet on foot pegs.
Is it really true? please throw some light on this.

rtr-160 - first 2months - massive vibes after 7k rpm.. dual stage disk stopping....
after 2 months vibes in the handles and seat @ 5k rpm (60~70 kmph) and no vibes after that till 8k rpm, then hell.... went to various tvs service centers,no use... sold the bike and got a hunk.Hunk got gear box issues after 8 months of use, sold that too... got a unicorn after that,no issues....
this was with my frnd and he does not go fast, race boyond 7k rpm, cleans and maintails them very well, regular servicing done.....
so, i would suggest go for a dazzler for a no nonsense all rounder performer.. i myself used a unicorn for 5 years and trashed/crashed it like hell and was sooo bullet proof that even after 6o k kms on the odo,did not have to change the clutch plates.... and dazzler gives u all that u ever want in a unicorn(the dazzlers features were all i ever wanted in the uni and sold it off because it did not have them)...RED BULL did'nt give me WINGS, my BIKE did !!

IMO, the Dazzler and the GS150R are the best 150cc bikes available in India today. Go with either one depending on your likes or dislikes...
You won't regret your decision.
Good luck!Signals which are timed for 50 Kmph are also timed for 100 Kmph :)

Thanks for your suggestions
Thank you guys. I will test drive dazzler and GS150 R tomorrow and will post my experiences.
Another bike that I like is - P180, just because of it's sheer power.
Are pulsar bikes so unfavorable?
Heard a lot about quality issues of pulsars.
I have to finalize a bike this week in any case. Lets see what happens in tomorrows test drive.

I own a pulsar for past 1.5 years and i could not find any quality issues with it. But yes comparing with japanese legends the refinement is less but P180 is the best refined engine in pulsar series till date. Satisfies all ur requirements except pillion. I would suggest u to take a test drive of P180 as well.

It changes from bike to bike. There were more bikes with vibes in older lot than in the newer lot. You gotta maintain this bike with care. Tappets need adjustment at least every alternate service. Give this bike a good engine oil and lot of harsh vibes are gone. Give it a gpower or iridium plug and it accelerates smoother & faster (not mindblowingly fast but you can feel it when running beside another RTR) after 80KMPH. Maintain the chain carefully. ost people leave this unattended and the front sproket generates more vibes into the footrests.Originally posted by sirf_atul View PostHi Guys,

pulsars are a bit week on quality and they do not last that long as the jap's.... but on their favour are the parts cost... a 180 is a very sensible bike for some one who wants very good FE+sheer power+Dynamics+VFM
Maintain them well and u'll enjoy years of thrills..... and i have heard that the standards of the jap's(honda, suzuki, yamz) r comin down a bit from since i last bought a jap (5years ago)... u cannot go wrong with a 180,test drove for my frnd and bought one and he never goes above 60~70,getting 50kmpl.... ur line up should be like this if u ask me...
p180 > dazzler > gs150r > RTR 180 > RTR 160 > ZMA-R > Unicorn > SZ-XRED BULL did'nt give me WINGS, my BIKE did !!

P180 is a very good choice.. however TVS is coming with ABS version of Apache as well.. so you could wait and test drive that one before going ahead with the purchase.Let's bring down the monster of corruption to it's knees.. please visit http://ipaidabribe.com/

Thanks Bro for the line up, It has been of great help. I did test drive P180 as well, looks very refined, more refined that UG3 version. However the absense of kick starter and saree guard are a little concern. However I think, if i keep looking at such minor things there will always be something or the other in all bikes and I will never be able to get a perfect bike. I have to make a purchse coming weekend. Hopefully will decide between P180 or A160 Hyper edge.Originally posted by Dogg View Postpulsars are a bit week on quality and they do not last that long as the jap's.... but on their favour are the parts cost... a 180 is a very sensible bike for some one who wants very good FE+sheer power+Dynamics+VFM

Someone from XBhp sent me a message saying the laden weight of A160 is 130Kg and it is not good for 2 ppl. Even if the 2 persons (driver and pillion) are lean they can easily weigh up to 130kg or more. Is it a matter of concern??

Not true, me and my girl have clocked miles on my rtr. and for reaching 130KG, it means I just have to load the bike with a saddle bag and a tail bagOriginally posted by sirf_atul View PostThanks Bro for the line up, It has been of great help. I personally feel that A180 will be the better choice. If you have some more bucks to spend then go for it.Originally posted by sirf_atul View PostThanks Bro for the line up, It has been of great help. As most of my ride will be within city, I think P180 will be better considering pillion comfort as well. Avenger is no doubt the best in terms of comfort but it will be a bit hard to handle in city traffic. Thanks again for your response.
