  • 180 cc dilemma -apache or pulsar 180 for me

After using my 125 cc bike for 4 years i want to upgrade to a 180cc bike (pulsar or apache).my bike is still good, but its performane is not satisfatory for any trips longer than 100 km.i'm in bangalore,i even thought about buying a scooter seeing this traffic
    my requirements:
1.daily city travelling is 30 km (to & fro workplace),need a bike whih doesn't need frequent change in gear
2.good acceleration & high speed stability in speeds 90-100 km/hr occassional highway rides to chennai(my hometown)-300 km & coimbatore
3.rider comfort is primary concern.my wife will not accompany me while touring.
    4.vibrations to wrists & legs should be less in speeds 90 - 100 km/hr.
5.i don't worry about resale value & reliabilty.i believe, any bike will work fine if properly maintained.
6.fuel efficiency in city around 40 km/l and in highways 30-35 km/l while ripping would be fine.
7.need tubeless tyres both bikes have that, and my budget is 77000 t0 79000 at max.can't and don't want to stretch my budget than this.
    my vital stats:
    height : 5 ft 7 inches
    weight: 65 kg
    age:28
pls suggest me whether to buy Pulsar 180 or Apache RTR 180.
i want to buy bike within 3 weeks.so kindly don't suggest me to wait for any new launch and don't suggest any bike beyond my budget.

TVS Apache got better acceleration and flickability in traffic, you can feel lightness on its handling,My suggestion is to go for Apache180.

But before buying any bike do test drive them, trust me it helps alot.

p220 costs 10,000 Rs more than p180 in bangalore.it's beyond my budget.

A180 is better performer then P180 but for long rides P180 will be more comfortable then an apache..

my personal pick among these two bikes would be A180..

Crazily revving, fun and agile machine: RTR 180

Comfortable , refined and yet a quick machine: P180

                    perfectly explained in previous posts..

A180 is fun in city.. light flickable etc.. but heard, not good on highways due to viberation above 90.. less weight also mean less stable on highway..
P180 is pulsar.. means higher maintenance.. but finding a good service center should be easier in bang.

can go for P220 without fairing.. cheaper than fairing version by 3-4K..
but I would suggest if you are looking at long term thing.. 8-10K can be invested for better thing..

If performance & only performance is what you seek then look no further,go for RTR 180.It handles better than P180 due to less weight & smaller wheelbase.

I would suggest you APACHE 180

Do not have a confused mind. Do test ride and feel the difference between the two P180 and A180.

going by this logic the R15 should have the least stability on highways as it is the lightest bike

you'll invest and expect it to be with you for atleast 2years..... you'll be maintaining it good..... I would say, stretch your budget a little more & go for P220..... else after using 180 for few months you'll want a little more power..... then you might be having second thoughts..... even the lights of P220 is far better than other two bikes.....
but if you don't want to stretch, go for A180..... more fun to ride..... no idea about highway experience, but fun to ride in city.....

@Thread starter : Apaches have vibes in the range of 5-6k RPM which comes around 60-75kph & a sporty stance. Have a test-ride before deciding. All the best
